Eh...I'll probably do some updates in the middle of the month and then at the end of the month I'll post the stats for the month and the accumulative stats for the season.

That'll rule...you silent, silent readers.

Ludwick Out; Duncan In

The St. Louis Cardinals made it known today that Ryan Ludwick is day-to-day with back spasms. Tony LaRussa expects Ludwick to miss a week of action with Chris Duncan being his replacement.

The Cards open a series with the Mets tonight at Busch. The mets are off to a slow start, just 4-8 to start the season.

Cards Squeeze Past Mets

Chris Duncan came up huge in relief of the ailing Ryan Ludwick, going 2-3 while driving in 2, including the game-winning RBI in the 6th inning in a 5-4 victory over the Mets tonight at Busch.

The Cards would explode for 4 first inning runs while Todd Wellemeyer would have his weakest start of the season. Wellemeyer, who entered the contest with a 0.71 ERA, was a little more human today giving up 6 hits, 2 walks, 4 earned runs, and striking out 2 in 4 2/3 innings of work.

Wellemeyer would hand the ball over to Brad Thompson who would dominate, striking out 5 in 3 1/3 innings of relief before Chris Perez would come in to get his 5th save, striking out 2 in the process.

David Wright and Ryan Church hit homeruns for New York, while Carlos Beltran would go 3-4 with a double and a triple acounting for all 4 runs for the Mets.

The Mets Mike Pelfrey was hammered for 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings, giving up 5 earned runs while striking out 6.

Skip Schumaker was hit on the first pitch of the game, starting a rally that included a sleu of RBI singles by Manny Ramirez, Troy Glaus, Chris Duncan, and Yadier Molina.

NYM 4-10-0
STL 5-13-0
WP: Thompson 1-1
LP: Pelfrey 0-2
S: Perez 5

Re: St. Louis Cardinal Dynasty (The Show 09-PS2)

Mets Erupt In 9th, Win 6-2

After being held to just 2 hits through six innings by Adam Wainwright, the New York Mets would explode on the Cardinal bullpen tapping Brad Thompson for 5 hits and 4 runs in 1 inning as the Mets would roll to a 6-2 win.

The National Leagues leading hitter, Carlos Beltran, would go 3-4 with a double and a triple, driving in a pair of runs while Ryan Church would hit his 3rd homerun of the season as the Mets would improve to 6-8 on the young season. Beltran is hitting .481 this season.

Khalil Greene would supply the lone spark for the Cards as he would go 2-4 on the day with his 3rd homerun coming in the seventh inning.

"The bullpen needs to be improved. How we'll do that or where it'll come from is the question and we'll be looking for answers", said coach Tony Larussa post game.

Re: St. Louis Cardinal Dynasty (The Show 09-PS2)

Mets Hit 6 Doubles in 6-5 Win

After pitching 7 innings, allowing just 2 earned runs on 8 hits and striking out 4, Chris Carpenter's ERA for the season stands at 1.93. For all his dominance this season, the Cards pitcher is still without a decision as the Mets would launch an all out assault on the circus act that is the Cardinal bullpen as the Mets would hit six doubles on the day, getting two from both Castillo and Beltran.

The Mets scored 4 runs in the 8th inning as the Cards would use three pitchers in the frame; Florez, McClellan, and Thompson.

Also key in the game was the Cards batting around in the 7th inning and leaving the bases loaded, only mustering one run in the inning that came on a Manny Ramirez single.

"It was an extremely frustrating game today. But, its a long season and there will be days like this, just hopefully not many more", said an obviously frustrated Tony Larussa with regards to the loss to the Mets.

The Cards, with the loss, drop to 9-8 on the season.

NYM 6-12-0
STL 5-14-0
WP: Sanchez (1-0)
LP: McClellan (1-1)
S: Rodriguez (3)
