I certainly know about personal life things that have to be taken care of considering what I went through this past winter.

Don't worry about how long it takes. I'll still be here waiting to see how you do with the pinstripers.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise and Manager Report (MLB 09 The Show)

Game 10 for the Yanks - What will happen after they finally broke into the W column?
1-8 vs. 7-2

PITCHING MATCH-UP
Joba Chamberlain 0-1 9.00 vs. Carl Pavano 0-1 27.00

*Yankees get good outing from Chamberlain, bullpen falters as Yanks fall 6-3 to Tribe*

April 16, 2009 - Crack, bang and boom, the baseball went flying off of RF Nick Swisher's bat as he connected for a first inning home run that put the Yanks up two nil. Unfortunately, that was the end of the excitement for the Yanks in their home opener as they dropped an L to the Tribe.

Tribe starting pitcher Carl Pavano was great, going eight innings giving up only three hits and surrendering one mistake, that Swisher Home run.

His opponent on the mound Joba Chamberlain was good also going five and two thirds giving up only three runs and striking out six.

The Tribe was led by two home runs off of the bats of SS Jhonny Peralta and RF Shin-Soo Choo in the sixth and in the seventh that would ultimately tomahawk the Yanks.

CP Kerry Wood picked up his seventh save, you can say he has found his start early on in this season.

1B Mark Teixeira and RF Nick Swisher were both two of four at the dish for the Yankees. The Yankees will now look to game two of this three game home opening series for them.

In Minor league action the Trenton Thunder extended its win streak to 5, defeating Connecticut 4-2. In AAA, the Yanks dropped a 5-4 decision to the Buffalo Bison whom they split the four game series and now sit at .500 in the standings.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise and Manager Report (MLB 09 The Show)

I think that Joba is much better suited for the team in the bullpen. However, Hank Steinbrenner insists on putting him in the starting rotation.

What do you think?

Yeah - but he had a good outing tonight. He provides some good stuff. The starter for me who is on the ropes believe it or not just like he is in real life is Wang. I have Kennedy, Igawa and Hughes in the Minors just waiting to get their shots.

Hey, great dynasty. Just like real life. We have trouble scoring runs, and the bullpen is awful. LOL.

I guess MLB 09 is the most realistic game ever! Keep posting and I will keep reading.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise and Manager Report (MLB 09 The Show)

Game 11 for the Yanks
1-9 vs. 8-2

PITCHING MATCH-UP
C.C. Sabathia 0-2 9.28 vs. Fausto Carmona 1-0 3.86

*Yankees have nothing working for them, finally get a lead into the 9 and Rivera gives up 4 runs, including the go ahead suicide squeeze bunt to drop the game 6-3*

April 17, 2009 - When everything seemed to be well in control, the baseball Gods obviously had other plans for the worst in Major League Baseball New York Yankees who dropped another one, this time 6-3.

CP Mariano Rivera was not automatic tonight in a situation to where possibly he could have given the Yankees some much needed confidence. Rivera came into the ninth inning into a save situation and could not deliver, three outs, that is all he needed to get.

Instead, a lead-off double by LF Ben Francisco and a single from 2B Asdrubal Cabrera would make it a 3-3 ball game. From there it was all down hill as with bases loaded the Indians would pull off an incredible and gutsy play to take the lead 4-3.

The play a suicide bunt by C Kelly Shoppach that would score Cabrera from third. Then a double by SS Jhonny Peralta would bring around the other two Indians for the 6-3 lead, a four run ninth inning. Not what the Yankees had ordered.

Especially after starter C.C. Sabathia went 6 2/3 innings giving up two runs while walking five and striking out six.

At the plate, the Yankees DH Juan Miranda was three of four with his first homerun of the season. Miranda is batting .444 on the season. RF Nick Swisher hit another two run homerun, he has three now on the year and two in as many games.

Starting pitcher for the Indians, Fausto Carmona picked the no decision as he went 5 2/3 giving up three runs, while striking out four. RP Rafael Perez picked up his second win of the year as he went 2 1/3, not giving up a run.

In Minor League baseball, the AAA Scranton Yanks dropped its record to 4-5 after a 7-3 loss to the Rochester Redwings. The AA affiliate the Trenton Thunder who sit in first place in the EL North won 7-2 today.
