Indians Rally, Martinez Produces.
April 8, 2009

Starting Pitchers

Fausto Carmona(0-0, 0.00)
vs.
Vicente Padilla(0-0, 0.00)

Arlington, Texas- After a rare off game on Tuesday, the Rangers and Indians picked up their 3 game series to open the season. The Indians won game 1 due to a late offensive charge and that was similar to there game tonight. Early on, Travis Hafner hit an RBI double to give the Indians a 1-0 lead but they had many chances to add on but left multiple runners on. Texas managed to tie the game up in the 4th, but then in the 5th, Victor Martinez hit a towering shot in the upper deck off of Padilla. Texas scrapped and took the lead off an erratic Fausto Carmona. The lead was 3-2 until the 7th, when Victor Martinez hit a 2 out RBI double to score Grady Sizemore. Cleveland busted the game open in the 8th behind an RBI double from Sizemore, and a 2 RBI double off the wall from Mark DeRosa. The bullpen managed to close up the game and the Indians will look for the sweep tomorrow.

Well after looking through the greatness that was that dynasty thread. I decided to try and recreate that style of quality for this team.

Changes/Upgrades coming today.

Yep, you really helped me out with that stuff in my Pirates franchise last year. I'm going to try to get some time to get a good 'chise going again this summer. I planned on doing my Rockies franchise, but I forgot to save it, lol.

Isn't this your third MLB09 dynasty now? I don't blame you, I tend to jump around too. But I like your style a lot, so I'm hoping you stick with one. I'll be following - hopefully this one will get somewhere Good luck, man.

Rangers Break Out, Prevent Sweep
April 9, 2009

Arlington, Texas- Carl Pavano looks to make his big return from failure with the Indians but he may need to look in other areas after his first start against the Rangers. Pavano went 5 innings allowing 6 runs to cross the plate as the Rangers just smoked Cleveland in the finale. Cleveland has a bad problem early in the season. And that problem is the lack of hitting when runners get in scoring position. 4 runs on 15 hits is just a joke, but it is still early in the season and the Indians still have time to get it right.

Pitching Matchup

Carl Pavano(0-0, 0.00)
vs.
Brandon McCarthy(0-0, 0.00)

Box Score

CLE 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 0 1 4 15 2

Re: Cleveland Indians-Are You In The Tribe? (MLB 09)

Weekend Preview

Toronto Blue Jays @ Cleveland Indians

Weekend Probables
Friday April 10:
Aaron Laffey(0-0, 0.00) vs Robert Ray(0-0, 0.00)
Saturday April 11: Anthony Reyes(0-0, 0.00) vs Roy Halladay(0-0, 4.50)
Sunday April 11: Cliff Lee(1-0, 1.29) vs. Brian Tallet(1-0, 0.00)

The only Canadian team in baseball makes a visit to Progressive Field for a 3 game series against the Indians. The Blue Jays come into this series with a 3-1 record and have a team ERA of 2.68. Roy Halladay is going to be a tough challenge for the Tribe as this guy has 5 different pitches that he can throw for a strike at any time. This is the only home series Cleveland has until April 21st, so it is important for Cleveland to get off to a hot start at home because the next 2 series will be on the road.

Player To Watch

Travis Snider

While it may be early in the season, the Blue Jays big prospect is hitting .437 through 4 games with 2 home runs and 5 runs batted in. While he may not be the only guy to worry about in this Jays lineup, the Indians do not want him to continue his groove and look to shut him down this weekend.

Well the action is about to begin, stay tuned for the post game news from every game of this series, and stay wired to the preview section as we will preview the Indians/Royals series coming up next week.

Carl Pavano...*sigh*

At least you're kind of consistent with scoring.

Indians Blast Jays, Cabrera Out 1-2 Months
April 10, 2009

Cleveland, Ohio-
Good and bad news come out of the home opener for the Indians. The good news is that the Indians manage to beat the Blue Jays 9-2 behind the bat of Travis Hafner. But the bad news is that Asdrubal Cabrera will be out 1-2 months after breaking his shin in the 8th inning after a slide into second.

The Indians got a big pitching performance from Aaron Laffey, who went 7 innings only allowing 2 runs.

The Indians will take on Roy Halladay tomorrow afternoon. It should be a tough game but hopefully the Tribe will pull it out.
