You honestly going to keep Pavano around? He's embarrassing

Re: Cleveland Indians-Are You In The Tribe? (MLB 09)

A Yankee fan would say that

Pavano is definitely not embarrasing this year for the Indians.

4-1 4.10 era past 5 starts allowing 30 hits in 30 innings 6 walks and 24 k's.

He is doing just as well as Sabathia is this year and his paycheck is about 14million less.

Expect some bullpen moves to be made after the past 2 games. Those games will be posted soon.

Morneau Carries Twins past Indians
April 26, 2009

Recap:
A lead is never safe when the Indians pitching staff is on the prowl. And that point was shown once again early when the Tribe spotted Aaron Laffey a 4-0 lead after 1 inning.

Laffey decided to kick the team in the nads by giving up runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th inning before being removed. The bullpen came in and kept up with the theme and gave up 4 runs just in spite.

Oh well, you can't win every game but a big problem is starring to rear its ugly head, and that is the lack of distance the pitching staff can go. The bullpen is being destroyed by length of time being out there.

Indians Scouting Report
April 27-29

Boston Red Sox
Record: 11-7 (2nd in ALE)
Offense: .271
Pitching: 4.24 ERA

Probable Pitching Matchups:
4/27 Anthony Reyes(0-2, 3.86) vs. Justin Masterson(1-0, 6.46)
4/28 Cliff Lee(3-1, 6.12) vs. Tim Wakefield(1-2, 5.19)
4/29 Fausto Carmona(3-0, 3.38) vs. Josh Beckett(2-1, 3.38)

Preview:
The Boston Red Sox come into town to finish off the Indians 9 game home stand this week. Boston is probably one of, if not the most complete team in all of baseball, so this will be a good early season challenge for the AL Central leaders.

Keeping Ellsbury and Pedroia of the basepath will be as important as preventing the sluggers of Bay and Drew from going deep. This should be a tough series.

Player To Watch

J.D. Drew

Wanted: Bullpen Help
April 27, 2009

Recap:
Anthony Reyes really screwed over manager Eric Wedge early in the game when he left after an apparent arm injury, causing the Indians to go to the bullpen in the 2nd inning.

And early on they were doing okay. They also once again got run support when Grady Sizemore hit a towering grand slam off of Justin Masterson.

But then Rafael Betancourt decided to come in and be a rebel, giving up 4 runs in a third of an inning, and Kerry Wood did not help the cause giving up a home run to JD Drew.

Cy Young Provides a Big Lift
April 28, 2009

Recap:
The Indians have had a big problem with the over usage of there bullpen the past couple game. The starters have struggled making the bullpen come in early and they were really hoping that their Cy Young winner could give them some strong innings.

And that is exactly what Cliff Lee did. He provided 7 strong innings only allowing 1 run against such a dangerous lineup.

A crazy finish occurred in this game as well. Ellsbury was thrown out at home after a pass ball got by Kelly Shoppach. Wood managed to get his 6th save of the season.
