Re: RAZRr1275's Franchise Thread
Cincinnati Reds vs Florida Marlins
Edinson Volquez vs Ricky Nolasco
Well as you might expect this was a pitchers duel.
The first three I was pitching some no hit ball and volquez was pitching one hit ball. Then in the bottom of the fourth an out was converted into a hit with a throwing error. Then a walk and a single score me one run. 1-0 Marlins. I continue to pitch no hit ball and walk guys instead of giving up hits. But after 5 2/3 innings Nolasco finally surrenders a hit. In the 8th things get hairy. After one out I surrender a single and a walk. Then for a nice clutch play I strike out the next hitter. Then another walk. I have 2 guys in the bullpen ready to go but I elect to take the risk with Nolasco. I want that complete game. Jay Bruce is up tryinig to get the lead and he grounds out to first. Inning over and Nolasco gets out unscaved. Fast forward to the ninth. I get two quick outs on the Reds and then Alex Gonzalez comes up and hits a ball off the wall in left. He goes for two but I throw it in in time and get him out to end the game. Nolasco gets his complete game.
Since it was such a terrific game I have to post the pitcher stats
Edinson Volquez
