Rangers Listen to Fans, Call up Feliz

After a poll listed on the Rangers website on whether they should stick with Dustin Nippert or call up the promising prospect in Neftali Feliz, Texas listened to what the fans said and called up Feliz. Feliz had pitched excellent in AAA, going 2-1 in 5 starts, all of which were quality starts. His last game he had a complete game shutout while striking out 6 and only allowing 6 hits. Dustin Nippert will have to pass through waivers to make it to AAA. Feliz will work out of the bullpen to start with but Mike Maddux said don't be surprised if you see him out there starting during the White Sox series.

Re: Put Your Hands Up, The Rangers Are In Town - A MLB 09 'Chise

Rangers Come Through, Drop Sox

Runs would come at a small expense you would think. Brandon McCarthy was facing his former team and they might still wish he was on the team. McCarthy went 6 strong innings, giving up just 1 earned run while striking out 6 and doing it with ease. He would have been in line for the win but Rookie Neftali Feliz couldn't hold the Sox in the 7th Inning. Eddie Guardado would come in and pick up the slack for Feliz though, and Feldman came in the 9th and shut down the Sox 1-2-3.

Things seemed hopeless in the bottom of the 9th inning for Texas, until David Murphy stepped up to the plate. He hit a sinking line drive into right field, just under the glove of Jermaine Dye, all the way to the wall, Two out Triple. Runner on 3rd, 2 gone for 1B Chris Davis, and he would prevail, lining a fastball into left field down the line for the go-ahead run. This ended the White Sox three-game winning streak and also ended a two-game losing streak at home for the Rangers.

Rangers can't keep 'CRUZ'in

Things can't get worse for Nelson Cruz this season. After playing in only 8 games so far this year, he has landed himself back on the DL. This comes after he started off the home opener against the White Sox 2-2 with a double. He broke his hand sliding into 2nd base. He's been placed on the 15 day DL. Texas has recalled Greg Golson from AAA Oklahoma.

GAME 2 OF 3

Chicago (16-7, L1) vs. Texas (12-11, W1)

STARTING PITCHERS

D.J. Carrasco (1-0, 4.76 ERA) vs. Kris Benson (1-2, 4.50 ERA)

May 2nd 7:05

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Arlington TX

Injury Report
CHW - John Danks - Head Contusion - 15 Day DL, Bartolo Colon - Fractured Arm - 15 Day DL
TEX - Nelson Cruz - Broken Hand - 15 Day DL

Pregame Notes
Texas had a good win yesterday, despite having Feliz blow a save, the vets in the bullpen really picked him up. Andruw Jones will need to continue his hot hitting with Nelly Cruz gone for 1-2 months.
