Re: Go Blue! - Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB 09)

Recap
Phoenix- Today (from recaps now on) began the 4 game series between the NL West teams, Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks. For the Blue was Randy Wolf (0-0, 0.00 ERA) and for the D-backs was Doug Davis (0-0, 0.00 ERA). The Dodgers scored quickly in the 3rd as Andre Ethier recieved 2 RBIs on a baseknock that brought in Juan Pierre and Randy Wolf. The D-backs came back in the 4th when Justin Upton and Mark Reynolds came on in two quick singles. Josh Whitesell brought the first run in and an out later, Chris B. Young brought the other run in. After those scoring innings every inning was scoreless. Jonathan Broxton came in to get his first save and got 1 important out. He gave a base hit up to Josh Whitesell and Gerardo Parra came to pinch run. Chris Snyder popped out to Casey Blake and then Parra was thrown out trying to steal 2nd to give LA the 3-2 win.

Re: Go Blue! - Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB 09)

Notes
Russell Martin will be injured for 2-3 weeks after hurting his hamstring rounding 2nd base. He has been placed on the 15 day DL List.

Blake DeWitt has been called up from Albuquerque to fill up a roster spot.

James Loney continues his part slump as he went 0 for 4 with a couple of strikeouts.

Brad Ausmus will now be the full time catcher until Martin heals from his injury.

Re: Go Blue! - Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB 09)

Ok... m dynasty screwed up the date and my pitcher who was supposed to pitch tomorrow is pitching on April 10th. Ummm, russell martin is still injured and well looks like im gonna sim this date. I guess I forgot to save. Well my current record is still gonna be 3-2 and well whatever. Im playing game 2 of d-backs vs dodgers still.

Well I guess I used 2 starting pitchers on April 10th so ill just keep it as that

Re: Go Blue! - Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB 09)

Recap
Phoenix- Today was the 2nd matchup between the D-backs and Dodgers. On the hill for the Dodgers was Chad Billingsley (0-0, 1.28 ERA) and for the Diamondbacks was Dan Haren (0-1, 7.20 ERA). This game was also a pitchers duel as both teams had a troubled time scoring. But Arizona got it going first when Josh Whitesell singled into center field scoring in Felipe Lopez at 3rd. Augie Ojeda scored in the very next inning from a single by Felipe Lopez. Dodgers just couldn't solve the two time All-Star as Dan Haren pitched a no-hitter all the way to the 5th. Casey Blake and Juan Pierre were the only ones who could hit off Dan Haren's complete game. The game ended by a former D-Back, Orlando Hudson, struck out swinging against Haren.

Re: Go Blue! - Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB 09)

News & Notes
The Dodgers are considering bringing down Blake DeWitt for AJ Ellis, Lucas May, or Gary Bennett to give the aging Brad Ausmus a few breathers.

The Dodgers stat manager had a few technical difficulties so the stats were different from April 10th's. He inputed two starters pitched that game. Furthermore, they are just going to keep the stats as is.

The Dodgers are currently in a bad slump batting, as only two players that were in the lineup have a BA of over .300.

Russell Martin had x-rays again and it did not look too serious. He has gone to Florida to rehab and in a few weeks, swinging the bat and catching/throwing.
