A Tradition Comes to an End

By:Bababooey76

The Cincinnati Reds, the only professional sports team to open every season at home annually , will no longer have that distinction starting this coming season. Major League Baseball has put an end to that tradition and will have the Reds opening up in Los Angeles to play the World Champion Dodgers in the upcoming 2011 season opener.

This is Bababooey76 live in Flushing New York where here very shortly, the New York Mets will hold a press conference to make a "big announcement" as described by the teams PR department. We will bring this announcement to you as soon as it is made, so stay tuned.

Bababooey76 back live in Flushing, New York where the Mets, who already have landed reigning MVP Manny Ramirez, announced the signing of free agent 1B Albert Pujols. Pujols agreeing to a 2 year deal worth 17.1 million per season.

Pujols hit .316 with 41 HR and 136 RBI with St. Louis last season. The Mets had not been talked about much in the race to sign Pujols but have added another huge name to that lineup and jump to the front as a favorite to win the 2012 World Series.

Jeter and the Yankees decide to part ways.

By:Bababooey76

An end of an era in the Bronx today as the Yankees and SS Derek Jeter have decided that it was time for both sides to move on. Jeter hit .286 last year with 77 RBI.

Jeter, a free agent, reportedly has had offers from the Chicago Cubs and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said that both sides just felt that it was time to explore other options after not coming to terms on a new contract for Jeter. "Derek is a guy who I always felt would be a Yankee forever. Unfortunately what Derek wanted and needed did not fit into what we felt would be best for the organization moving into the future" said Cashman.

Yeah, it is going into 2011. Those are the biggest names to leave their teams.

I'm loving this. Keep updating/ do you plan to make any moves with the reds. Also what was you're lineup at the end of last season?
