Mets hold on to beat the Phillies 2-1
The '86 Mets scored 2 runs in the top of the 4th last night and then let their pitching do the rest of the work. NY's starter, Rick Aguilera, was sharp on the mound as he gave up 1 unearned run in 7.2 IP while striking out 8. The Mets hit a total of 6 doubles in the game, including back-to-back 2-baggers by D Strawberry & M Wilson to open up the 4th that got them on the board. Aguilera & the Mets' bullpen combined to give up just 5 hits in the 2-1 victory.
Pete Rose turns around to watch Mookie Wilson's run-scoring double bounce into the RF corner.
