Gavin Floyd shut down the Rangers for 7 1/3 innings.

Chicago, IL --Gavin Floyd continues to dominate hitters this season. He made the Texas Rangers look foolish tonight, and improved to 6-0, becoming the first pitcher to reach the 6 wins mark this season. His ERA is currently an impressive 2.15, but even more impressive is the fact that he has provided 6 of his team's 13 victories.

Jermaine Dye provided a home run for the second time in the series, hitting a 3-run bomb in the bottom of the 6th off of Eric Hurley. The only note for the Rangers is that Ian Kinsler and Josh Hamilton extended their hitting streaks.

The Rangers have an off day, before having a short home stand against division rivals Seattle and Los Angeles.

Millwood didn't allow a run until there were 2 outs in the 8th inning.

Arlington, TX --Kevin Millwood bounces back from the loss in his last start with his best performance of the year. He went the distance, only allowing a single run on 5 hits, while striking out 10 Mariner batters.

Saltalamacchia helped kick-start a faltering offense by hitting a deep two run shot in the second inning. The Rangers added 3 in the 4th, all with two outs. Seattle eventually escaped that inning leaving the bases loaded.

Arlington, TX --The similarities between tonight's game for the ages and the one not even a week ago are striking. In both games, Scott Feldman pitched phenomenal, but the offense couldn't pick him up. In both games, the Rangers pitchers recorded 17 strikeouts. In both games, Doug Mathis pitched the final 3 innings and got the victory. Most importantly, both games ended in a Rangers victory against a division foe.

Scott Feldman was nearly flawless tonight. It's unfortunate that he didn't get the victory, and his performance will be overlooked by the length of the game. Feldman was perfect for the first 5 innings of the game, before allowing a bloop single to Chris Woodward of all people. The hit didn't deter Feldman, however, who went on to only allow 3 hits in his 9 innings of work. He struck out a career high 14 batters as well in the effort.

The Rangers offense continues to struggle. Three times in the extra frames the Rangers had a runner on third, and all three times they failed to score. Luckily for the position players, the pitchers have really picked it up lately. All in all, this game showcased an outstanding pitching performance from every single pitcher involved.

Rangers Shut Out for 4th Time in Last 10 Games

Brandon Morrow becomes the latest pitcher to shut-out Rangers.

Arlington, TX --Once again the runs column ends in a 0 for the Texas Rangers. The team as a whole continues to struggle to connect the bat with the ball. They've only scored 9 runs in their past 6 games, and as a team their average has dropped dramatically in the past two weeks.

Elvis Andrus in particular had a horrendous series against Seattle. He went 2 for 13 with 8 strikeouts.

My graphic is actually strikingly similar to the overlay that the MLB Network uses, so if you're going to accuse me of taking something I hope you've done the same to that person. It was made from scratch, like I said, based on a picture I took of my TV.
