Adam Loewen (0-0) Vs. Derek Holland (0-0)

Game 3

Garrett Olsen (1-0) Vs. Scott Feldman (1-0)

Series Preview- The Rangers & Orioles are geering up for a potentiol playoff/wildcard series. Each pitching matchup has a similar record. Game 1 is between McCarthy & Guthrie who are both coming off tough losses. Game 2 is between young guns Holland and Loewen who both have one no decision. Game 3 is between aces Feldman & Olsen. The Rangers need to do what they did against the Angels which is scoring runs and bullpen has been perfect. The Starting Pitching has also been good. Last series there opponent (Angels) only average about 1.5 runs per game.

Keys To Success-
1,) Just do what the Rangers did against the Angels for success

Rangers almost comeback, lose game 1 in a high scoring game

Baltimore Orioles (6-2) AT. Texas Rangers (3-4)

Markakis may have went 2 for 5, but he knocked in the go ahead run in the 8th to give his club a win

BAL l 3 l 0 l 1 l 0 l 3 l 0 l 0 l 2 l 1 ll 10 l 19 l 0
TEX l 0 l 1 l 0 l 2 l 1 l 2 l 1 l 0 l 1 ll 8 l 17 l 0
W- ? Cherry (1-0) L- Frank Francisco (0-1) S- Chris Ray (6)

Rangers almost comeback, lose to wild card contender
Arrlington - The Orioles just hanged on to win game 1 of 3 games.
Both starting pitchers allowed more than 4 or more runs.

Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie (0-1) went 5 innings 5 runs on 10 base hits while punching out 4. However McCarthy did a little better. He went 3.2 Innings allowing 4 runs on 8 hits while punching out 1.

Bullpen wasn't good either. Both bullpens were combine for 10 earned runs, 6 from the Texas Rangers.

In the first inning Brian Roberts lead of the game with a double & scored on Melvin Moras back to back double. Luke Scott followed with another double & drove in Veteran Mora. Ramon Hernandez hit a rbi single to give his club a 3 run lead.

In the second inning Josh Hamilton hit a deep Homerun to center field to cut the lead to 2. Hamilton went 4 for 5 with 2 rbis, both coming on Homeruns by him & was a triple shy of a cycle.

In the 3rd the Orioles extended the lead back to three after a Aubrey Huff sac fly. Huff went 3 for 4 & drove in two.

In the 4th inning, the Rangers bounce back because of a Marlon Byrd RBI Single.

In the 5th the Orioles bats almost broke out. Luke Scott started it out with a RBI double. Huff followed with a RBI single. And Ramon Hernandez finished the drive with a RBI double to score Huff from first. And then it was the Rangers turn. Saltalamacchia started the drive with a RBI double.

In the 6th the Rangers got another 2 runs with David Murphy's Sac Fly & Michael Young's RBI double on a 0-2 count. Rangers cut the lead to 1

In the 7th inning Ramon Vasquez hits a RBI fielders choice.

However in the 8th, Markakis hits a 2R RBI single to give the O's a 9-7 lead.

In the 9th inning the O's scored again, but in the bottom frame Hamilton hits another monster homerun but this time to right field

Miscue damn plays cost Rangers win

Baltimore Orioles (7-2) AT. Texas Rangers (3-5)

Hernandezs' 1st inning bomb leads them to victory

Team ll R ll H ll E
BAL ll 7 ll 12 ll 0
TEX ll 2 ll 10 ll 0
W- Adam Loewen (1-0) L- Derek Holland (0-1)

Texas continues to struggle defensively, offensivly, and pitching, lose to Baltimore

ARRLINGTON- Texas needs to improve if they want to win the AL West or the Wild card. Their hopes of making the playoffs are hopeless if they don't improve their defense, offense, & there pitching. The bullpen was alright just allowing one basehit but the problem for them is they need to score runs. They need to score more runs. Michael Young needs to step up & deliver in the clutch like in the past. Saltalamacchia needs to get on a streak, one of the top prospects of the Rangers a few years ago. Millwood needs to pitch like a ace & teach the young pitchers, like Holland, Mendoza, Feldman. Veteran Mike Sweeney & Blalock need to get on a hot streak as well. Texas is being outscored this series 17-10. Young Feldman will be on the mound & will look to stop the Rangers skid

David Murphy Delivers in the clutch, Feldman pitches complete game shutout

Baltimore Orioles (7-3) AT. Texas Rangers (4-5)

Scott Feldman has been the ace for the ball club, now 2-0 with a ERA of 0.64

Orioles- 0 l 5 l 0
Rangers- 1 l 7 l 0
W- Scott Feldman (2-0) L- Garrett Olsen (1-1)

Young Scott Feldman pitches like a ace, gets first complete game shutout

ARRLINGTON - Scott does it again. He showed the Rangers that he can be there ace after Millwood not stepping up. Scott Feldman pitched 9 strong innings, rung up 5 & got his team leading 2nd win. Scott Feldman retired the whole 9th inning to get his first shutout of his career & first complete game or shutout for his team. He ended the game with Jay Gibbons grounding out to the Shortstop Michael Young.

David Murphy drove in the only run for the game. Murphy drove in Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia after he got hit by a pitch. Murphy drove in the young catcher because of a miscue play by RF Markakis trying to dive & didn't go so well.

The Rangers will face the visiting Toronto Blue Jays with Bartolo Colon, making his first home start of the 2008 campaign. Colon will face Chacin
