The Kei Igawa Effect

Ok.
To give me something lighthearted fun to do while going through the grind of my franchise this year, I decided to try what I call the Kei Igawa Effect.

The once kind-of-proud pitcher from Oarai Japan is back on the map.

For those who don't know who he is.
He is known as Mr. AAA
He is known to hail from the Far Least.

He is about to, by the real life yankees, be banished to the minor leagues for good.
But hold up, he aint done yet.

MY goal will be to rise him back up from AAA [where I will do all his starts down there], get him back up to the big show, and make the All-Star team.
Yes, make the All-Star team.

I can do it.
I will do it.
I will chronicle all his news here.

emails regarding his status.
all his pitching lines as well as analysis.
Get Igawa all day, all the time, here.

Sounds boring? You haven't seen him pitch!

Plus, it will create a buzz when he takes the mound each time.
We forget this guy used to be the strikeout king of Hashin.
he had more cell phone pics taken of him on the streets of Ibaraki then Bobby Valantine at a karaoke club.
All eyes will be on the "Oh My! From Oarai".

---

Am i crazy for thinking Igawa can be resurrected in The Show?
Possibly, but who else is gonna be the fifth starter this year when Joba implodes?

Stay tuned.

Re: The Kei Igawa Effect

I took him on as a salary dump in my Giants chise once. He wasn't bad in AA, but he never made the MLB team.

Re: The Kei Igawa Effect

last year i did the same exact thing last year with kei igawa. i never actually finished it because something happened to the franchise file but i made it to a few weeks before the all-star break and he was something like 8-2 with a 2.5 ish ERA and about a strikeout per inning.
good luck! ...you'll need it

I actually played a lot of the minor league games in my Yankees franchise last year, and he did really well for me. I think he was 7–2 or something like that in June before my PS3 got hit with the yellow light of death.
