Very nice.. Following. Good to see my team get off to a good start. Unrealistic... but nice to see nonetheless.

Don't worry, my first game against the Cubs was very Reds-ish.

I'll be running with the Reds when I pick it up... Definitely enjoying the reads though. Looking forward to the Cubbies write-up.

Re: A New Big Red Machine (MLB 10 The Show)

Chicago (1-2) vs Cincinnati (2-1)
Great American Ballpark
Cincinnati, Ohio

One Poor Pitch Does in the Reds
Cueto's hanger leads to Cubs victory.
Cincinnati, OH- Things were going smoothly for the Reds through out the beginning of the game. They took an early lead in the 1st behind Votto's towering homerun. Cueto was striking out batters left and right. The Reds were in complete control.

Then the 4th happened. A bloop single by Theriot, a ducksnort by Ramirez, but still no worries. Cueto gets Soriano down 1-2 in the count and was looking to throw Alfonso's buggaboo, the down and away slider. The only problem, it did not get down or go away, it was nailed over the left field wall, the Cubs were up 3-2.

You would think, no worries, the Reds could score again, but Wells had his A game on the mound Friday night. He pitched 7 strong innings, only allowing the 2 run homer in the 1st.

Carlos Marmol came into the game in the 9th, with a 4-2 lead, and made things interesting. 2 runners on, 2 outs, lead off man Chris Dickerson up and it was a battle. It was a 3-2 count and on the 8th pitch, the ball thrown was a slider, that looked a tad outside, but the umpire [Ed Coleman] thought differently, ringing up Dickerson, ending the Reds chances and the Cubs were victorious.

Drew It All Along
Young CF has career day.
Cincinnati, OH- In what was a subs day for some of the starters on the Reds, one everyday starter has a game to remember. Drew Stubbs 3-6 performance led the Reds past the Cubs in 10 innings, including his walkoff 2 run HR to win the game.

Stubbs also impressed with his glove, he robbed Aramis Ramirez in the 6th of a HR to end the inning. He had an all around great game.

Saturday was also the debut of Aroldis Chapman. He pitched okay, going 5 innings, allowing 3 runs and striking out 8. But this game would go back and forth all the way until the 10th when Stubbs hit a bomb over the Center Field fence to win the game.
