Doing this one a little differently in the beginning. Since I screwed up the tables in my first thread I decided to start this dynasty report kind of late so I will be picking up with the first month of the season already complete. I will be playing all 162 games and have already played all the games in April. In the next couple posts I'll post the results and standings through April 30.

Dunn Red-Hot Through 1st Month of 2010



Adam Dunn has been one of the hottest hitters in the National League so far this season. The slugging 1B is currently tied with Ryan Howard and Lance Berkman for most Home Runs (8), and also holds the league lead in RBI (23), Slugging Percentage (.739) and OPS (1.128).

Probable Pitchers

Scott Olsen (3-0, 3.67 ERA) vs. Chris Volstad (0-3, 6.75 ERA)

Washington, D.C. -- The streaking Nationals took game 1 of this series on Friday by a score of 3-1. SP Shairon Martis made his first start of the year for Washington just days after being called up from AAA to replace the struggling Craig Stammen. The righty was magnificent, putting up a complete game, 1-run, 7-hit win over the Marlins.

If you look at the numbers of this pitching matchup, the Nats appear to have the obvious advantage. Olsen has been on fire so far this year, winning 3 of his 4 starts and striking out 15 batters. For the Fish, Chris Volstad has had a hard time to this point, posting an ERA just south of 7 and has pitched only 16 innings through 4 starts so far in 2010.

The Nationals are 6-4 in their last 10 games while the once-hot Marlins have cooled off, losing 8 of their last 10 and falling to 4th place in the NL East.

I have started Guzman at 2B and SS in a bunch of games and he has stunk like crazy. I played the last 2 games of the Marlins series tonight and gave Taveras the start in RF in the rubber match, been struggling with him too though.

Marlins Power Too Much for Nats in Game 2

A face only a mother could love; but Dan Uggla dominated against the Nationals in game 2 of the series

MIAMI, FL -- Nationals starting pitcher Scott Olsen didn't look like himself on Saturday night against the Marlins. The Fish jumped on Olsen early and often, and Dan Uggla pounded a pair of Home Runs forcing the lefty out of the game after pitching just 4 innings and suffering his first loss of the young season.

"I forgot how much these guys can make you pay for making bad pitches", the disgruntled Olsen, a former Marlin, remarked about his old teammates, "I didn't have my best stuff today and they made sure I knew it".

Washington was held scoreless into the 7th inning before plating 3 runs in that inning. Adam Dunn sparked what almost became a late-game comeback with a 2-run blast, and a wild pitch by Marlins pitcher Mike MacDougal allowed Pudge Rodriguez to scamper home for the 3rd run.

Willie Harris and rookie Ian Desmond each singled home a run each in the 8th inning but Renyel Pinto came in and was able to stop the bleeding for the Marlins, opening the day for Leo Nunez to pitch a nearly flawless 9th inning, earning his 8th save of the season.
