Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Follow the Lee-der, Max Scherzer does it!

Max Scherzer sure matched Cliff Lee pitch for pitch in this classic showdown!

Road series starts poorly for Yankees, who drop opener to Tigers.

The Yankees and Tigers worked overtime tonight, as New York lost in walk-off fashion, 4-3 in 1 innings. Despite going 9 strong innings, and allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, Cliff Lee didn't factor into the decision, though he does get a "quality start," his 3rd of the season.

David Aardsma, who entered the game in extra frames, was on the hook for defeat, giving up 1 run in 0 innings of relief.

Francisco Cervelli went 1-for-2, collecting 1 RBI for the club. Cliff Lee was asked what he thought of the game. "It's always tough to lose a game in the latter innings, but sometimes you have to tip your hat to your opponent and move on.

The series continues under the lights tomorrow night, with Andy Pettitte (5-0, 4.00) going for the Yankees against Jeremy Bonderman (2-3, 12.30) and the Tigers.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Jeremy Bonderman should have had "Admiral Motors" on his back! As he was sure rolling through 6 IP with 11 K's!

Swishalicious was surely make some noise of his own! After hitting his home run, he flips his bat, and gives a stare into the Detroit dugout!

Yankees fall again in Detroit, trail series 2-0.

The Yankees were unable to slip past the Tigers on the road tonight, suffering a tight 3-2 loss at Comerica Park. Andy Pettitte (5-1) took the loss, despite allowing only 3 runs in 7 innings of work.

Mark Teixeira picked up 1 RBI and went 2-for-4, providing the offensive spark.

The series continues under the lights tonight, with Roy Oswalt (2-2, 4.14) going for the Yankees against Armando Galarraga (0-5, 4.85)and the Tigers.

Mark Teixeira looks to build on his 10-game hitting streak.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

The look of a 4-game losing streak!

Your defense is on the Mark, Teixeira!

Long

Long Ball!

Yankees can't overcome Tigers, lose game outside their division.

Under the lights of Comerica Park, the Yankees were defeated by the Tigers 8-4, as 28,812 fans at Comerica went home reasonably happy. Curtis Granderson homered in 2 at-bats to give the club a jolt.

Roy Oswalt (2-3) was roughed up in defeat, as he only pitched 3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits.

The two teams finish the series with a day game at Comerica Park, with Phil Hughes (1-0, 1.93) set to face the Tigers' ace, Justin Verlander (2-5, 4.57).

Mark Teixeira looks to build on his 11-game hitting streak.

The Yankees claimed SP Doug Davis off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

I've really been liking this dyansty, the format is very readable and fun to check up on.

I will say it looks like you've had some rough outings so far from unexpected people. You'd think Oswalt and C.C. would be able to atleast give you 6 strong. What's the word on that low confidence, good hitting, bad pitches?

Good luck down the road, I'll keep reading this one for sure!

Thank you for liking and following! Over these past 4-5 games my hitting has really been slumping, outside of a few hitters. My pitching was doing okay, until this series with Detroit, so right now I'm just in a overall team slump.

I'm looking to turn this around by avoiding the sweep, and heading back home with some momentum against the Twins.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Adam Everett makes the dive just before making the catch!

Swishalicious uses his speed, as he ranges back to make the catch!

Visiting Yankees tame Comerica Park crowd, halt 4-game losing streak by defeating the Tigers.

Today the Yankees and Tigers logged some overtime, as the Yankees finally won 6-5 in 10 innings, with a crowd of 29,828 on hand at Comerica Park. Nick Swisher went 2-for-5 and drove in 1 run to spark the offense.

Mariano Rivera ended up being the victor, eschewing his usual "S" for a "W," his 2nd of the season.

The Yankees and ace C.C. Sabathia (4-2, 3.91) kick off a 7-game homestand tonight agaisnt the visiting Twins, who counter with Francisco Liriano (3-0, 5.40).

Mark Teixeira hopes to add to his 12-game hitting streak.

The Yankees claimed 2B Brooks Conrad off waivers from the Atlanta Braves.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Alexander the great

conquers again!

Conrad's first defensive play as a Yankee!

Jorge juiced one

and here is the reaction!

Kubel was surely the MVP for the Twins!

Span shows you that there was some spectacular defense in this game!

Nick is absolutely swishalicous!

Minnesota comes up short, lose hard-fought game to New York.

The Yankees won last night against the Twins, emerging victorious in the 12-10 contest, played in front of 51,026 fans at Yankee Stadium.

Carrying the team on his bat, Alex Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI. Joba Chamberlain vultured the win (his 2nd of the season) out of the bullpen, coming into a tie game and working 1 and two thirds innings and allowing no runs on 2 hits in relief of starter C.C. Sabathia.

Alex Rodriguez discussing the game, said,"You always like to come back to win, and we were able to do just that against their bullpen."

The serious continues today, with a pitching matchup of the Yankees' Cliff Lee (1-1, 2.38) against the Twins' Scott Baker (4-2, 2.89).
