Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

A look at Yankee Stadium, before the start of the game.

You just experienced a full body throw from the Grandy man, to get the runner out at home plate. Please tune in to every Yankee game!

Alfredo Aceves was surely an "Ace" out of the bullpen, as hew as able to earn his first win on the season!

Robinson Cano was able to turn this beautiful double play, but shortly after he left the game with a shoulder injury. He will be okay.

Nino surely makes the best out of his playing time, as he shows us another great defensive play!

As you can see, Lance Berkman did not hit this ball on the barrel of that bat, or anywhere close to it! But somehow manged to drive this ball out of the park, to left field.

Maybe not as exciting as the other plays, but I thought this was great footwork at first, by Lance Berkman!

Yankees pound James Shields, scoring 4 runs off him in win.

A crowd of 51,300 fans at Yankee Stadium went home happy last night, as they saw their Yankees pull out a close 8-5 win over the Rays.

Lance Berkman provided the offense, collecting 3 hits -- including a home run -- and 3 RBI.

After starter Cliff Lee departed, Alfredo Aceves cam into the game and manged to earn a win, his 1st of the season, tossing 3 and two thirds innings of relief and allowing no runs on 3 hits.

Lance Berkman was asked about the game, and had this to say, "We were hoping to take a bit of James Shields, and it worked out, as we hit him pretty hard."

Tonight the Yankees are in New York, opening up the subway series with Andy Pettitte (6-1, 3.67) opposing John Maine (4-1, 4.02) and the Mets.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Jenrry Mejia wants YOU, to go to mets.com!

Jason Bay makes a very nice dive, robbing Jorge of a hit!

Andy "still so good at pitching" Pettitte, celebrates after getting his first strikeout of the game.

A-Rod drove in a key run, and collected 2 hits in today's game.

In an interleague matchup, Yankees emerge on top over Mets.

The Yankees, playing on the road in an interleague game, came away with a 3-0 win last night over the Mets.

Getting the win was Andy Pettitte, who gave up no runs on 5 hits en route to getting his 7th win of the season.

Alex Rodriguez sparked the offense, going 2-for-4 and driving in 1 run.

In the game John Maine recorded the 500th strikeout of his career.

The Yankees and Mets do battle at CITI FIELD again this afternoon, with Roy Oswalt (3-3, 5.07) squaring off against Oliver Perez (0-3, 4.35).

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Good job on the Wood deal. I have him in my Yanks franchise, and he has been a savior! Expect good things from him. My advice would be to concentrate on keeping the confidence up with his slider and cutter. They work very well together.

That said...If he doesn't have either going on a particular day, his "number one" is too shabby either! LOL

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

French dressing!

Plenty of action at home plate, ,as it seems that a collision is on its way!

It's like Carl knew exactly where the camera would be! As he slides in safe, and shows off his shades!

Roy "Whiff Master" Oswalt has not hit his actual groove yet, but it's coming soon!

Yankees soar past Mets in interleague contest, extending win streak to 10.

The Yankees, playing on the road in New York, won a tight game last night, beating the Mets 2-1 with a crowd of 41,800 fans on hand at CITI FIELD.

Allowing 1 run on 7 hits over 7 innings of work, while striking out 2, Roy Oswalt was able to notch his 4th win of the season.

A key player offensively was Nick Swisher, who picked up a pair of hits in 4 at-bats.

The series ends this afternoon, with the Yankees' Phil Hughes (2-0, 2.78) and the Mets' Fernando Nieve (3-0, 4.23) the probable starters.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Carlos Beltran with a nice catch on the track!

David, your swing is always Wright!

The Yankees were THAT close to tying the game!

Carl could not believe that he was called out, and the amazing winning streak is now over!

Late-inning rally takes life out of Yankees, who lose to the Mets.

New York was beaten by the Mets yesterday, losing a tight 6-5 interleague contest with a crowd of 41,800 fans on hand at CITI FIELD.

He only had 1 official at-bat -- and he banged out a hit -- but Lance Berkman drove in 1 run for the Yankees.

It was a "quality start" for Phil Hughes, who allowed 3 runs in 6 innings, but it was also a no-decision for him, as he was long gone when the game was decided.

Reliever Joba Chamberlain took the loss, getting lit up for 3 runs in two thirds of an inning in relief of starter Phil Hughes.

The Yankees, behind their ace C.C. Sabathia (5-2, 4.18), begin a new series in Minnesota Tomorrow night. The Twins give the starting nod to Francisco Liriano (3-0, 6.41).

The Yankees acquired C Bengie Molina from the Giants for SP Tim Redding, SP Jeremy Bleich and SP Jason Hirsh.

Re: Bronx Bugle - New York Yankees

Nick climbed the wall to attempt to catch the ball, but it ricocheted off the wall and caught him on the side of his neck!

Joe Mauer used his bat to guide his home run fair!

C.C. you later ball!

Alexander the great was showcasing his talents tonight, as he watches one of his two homers of the game, fly far far away!

Take a look at the catcher of the future for the Yankees! He goes by the name of Austin Romine.

Yankees draw first blood on the road, winning initial game of the series.

It was no contest under the lights at Target Field last night, as the Yankees beat up the Twins 12-3 with 25,389 fans on hand.

Alex Rodriguez carried a big stick -- and he used it -- pounding a pair of home runs and knocking in 4 runs.

C.C. Sabathia earned the win, his 6th of the season, but he wasn't very good, giving up 8 hits in only 5 innings, with the bullpen providing four innings of solid relief.

Austin Romine talked about the team's and his performance in a post-game interview. "It's hard to be on the winning end of a game like this sometimes, but not as hard as it is to be on the losing end."

The Yankees and Twins play game 2 tonight, with Cliff Lee (2-1, 3.00) and Scott Baker (4-4, 3.81) the probable starters.

The Yankees aquired RP Zach Miner, 3B Don Kelly and RF Josh Burrus from the Tigers for C Bengie Molina.
