Game 2 of ALCS

Tough Match, Yankees Take The Game:

On a game where hits were really hard to come by, only a six total hits in the whole game three for each team the Yankees still won it 2-0. There was however some controversy during the game since in the seventh inning with two outs Youkilis was hit which had A.J Burnett ejected from the game. Yankees staff was not too content with the decision since before that Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, and Brett Gardner had all been hit yet the first hitter A.J. Burnett hits gets ejected. Fortunately for A.J. Burnett the bullpen did as great as he did. Jason Frasor came in to pitch the last out of the seventh and then pitched the full eight and allowed no hits. Mariano Rivera came in to get two outs right away but then two consecutive hits lead to men on first and third but he would strike out Kevin Youkilis to end the game. The Yankees have now won five straight playoff games but big players like Mark Teixeira and Marcus Thames continue to struggle, Thames still has no hits in the post season. Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher continue to do good. Next game the Yankees will go to Fenway Park for game 3 of the ALCS. Francisco Liriano (1-0, 2.16) will take on Justin Duchscherer (0-0, 0.00)

Press Conferance with Terry Francona:
Q:
Terry how do you feel about losing two straight games now against the rivals?
Terry:It's never a good feeling when you lose a game in the playoffs, it doesn't matter who beats us, it's never fun to lose. But now we go back home and will try to take advantage back from there.

Q: Are you worried about possibly being eliminated being down 2-0?
Terry: I'm not worried, I'm not going to panic. We have a good team it can be done, back in 2004 everybody thought we were out but we did it right? If we did it then we can do it again.

Q:What made your decision of pitching Daisuke in game two and not Jon Lester?
Terry: Jon Lester did not have a great season, and Daisuke proved in the ALDS that he could pitch well so I chose him, I made the right choice as he kept them to just three hits and two runs in seven innings pitched.

Q:Thank you and good luck to you/.
Terry: Anytime and thank you.

Press Conference with Joe Girardi:
Q:
Do you feel relaxed now that you have a 2-0 lead over the Red Sox?
Girardi: This is the playoffs, you can never feel relaxed until you actually clinch.

Q:A.J. Burnett was ejected from the game for hitting Kevin Youkilis, however three of your players were hit, how do you feel about that?
Girardi: I honestly am still trying to figure out the umpires decision, it really doesn't make much sense. But hey we still won, and right now that's what's important.

Q: You're next three games are at Fenway are you going to prepare any differently?
Girardi:
Not at all, going to do what we did the last five games and try to win. I'm sure the Red Sox are going to give a fight since they are a good team and do not want to end their season here, but we will just have to fight back and hopefully come out on top.

Q:Thank you for your time, good luck to you and your team.
Girardi: No problem, and thank you.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))

Luckily your bullpen did what they had to do and you won the game. I've had that happen to me to me also where 3 of my guys get hit and then the next inning I hit one of theirs and my pitcher gets ejected. But again, that's what makes this game so great.

Question though, did Burnett hit a batter the very next inning after 3 of yours got plunked? I was asking because maybe hitting batters like that in back to back innings would cause the ejection to the pitcher who hit last.

I can't remember if that's how it happened to me.

Good franchise though, keep it up!

Thank you so much for reading, it means a lot when you know people check it

Also my three guys did not get hit in the same inning it was throughout the game, but all of them before I accidentally hit Youkilis with Burnett. I actually looked away from the screen so maybe Youkilis charged the mound thats why I got ejected. (I never got that part in this game if a player charges the mound only the pitcher gets ejected)

Also I'm loving this franchise each game is so intense always have to be so careful with my pitching which is surprising me that they are doing so good since during the season pitching was my biggest issue but now surprisingly it's doing good. For the first time ever in a baseball game I truly feel like I am playing in the playoffs which is a good thing.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))

Offense Shows Up, Still Not Good Enough for Red Sox:

It was game three of the ALCS and the Red Sox were in a mission, to win the game. The game did not start out well for them who in the first inning allowed a two run home run to Alex Rodriguez. They would get a run back in the third inning but would soon fall to 4-1 before actually tying the game 4-4 in the 5th inning, which also happens to be the inning that Joe Girardi decided to take out Francisco Liriano and put in Phil Hughes. This has been the worst start by a Yankees starter this whole post season. Nick Swisher left the game in the fourth inning when he ran to third with an injury. After the game we found out it was nothing serious and he will be in tomorrow's game. The Yankees too the win 8-6,in the same game where it's their worst pitching game in the playoffs it is also their best offensive game in the playoffs, the Red Sox just do not seem to have answers against the Yankees this year as they were 4-14 against the Yankees in the season and are now down 3-0 in the post season. In the next game the Red Sox are sending out Josh Beckett (0-1, 4.91) with just three days rest to try and win a game and stay alive, while the Yankees will try to clinch it with Cliff Lee who has not been seen this entire post season. After the game Terry Francona assured that he is not panicking and will take one game at a time now. Joe Girardi said he isn't going to change anything since you shouldn't fix what's not broken.

Small Interview with Jeter:
Q:
How do you feel right now?
Jeter: There really isn't anything to feel right now, we still haven't clinched anything, and no celebration should ever be done too early, I would know that first hand.

Q:Are you excited at the possibility of going to the world series for the second straight year?
Jeter:
Who wouldn't be excited of the possibility of going to the world series?

Q:You had three hits this last game, did it feel good after being on a small slump?
Jeter: It felt great, I knew my last few at bats hadn't gone my way, but I didn't have it in mind and take it one game at a time.

Q:Thank you for your time Derek Jeter, I wish you the best of luck.
Jeter: Thank you.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))

Yankees Can't Clinch Just Yet:

For the Red Sox this was a must win game, for the New York Yankees it was a clincher, in the end the Red Sox prevailed and won game four of the ALCS pushing a game five. Once again both pitching staffs did not do their best and Joba saw his first appearance in this post season go to waste as he did not record one out. The Red Sox were in good spirits after the game while the Yankees were a bit disappointed but still not worried. Red Sox fans are making blogs all over the internet now saying this will be a repeat of 2004, Yankees are hoping that they are wrong. The Yankees will send their ace C.C. Sabathia (2-0, 2.20) against Daisuke Matsuzaka (1-1, 1.20).

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))

Going back to New York:

This was yet another must win for the Red Sox and they played like it, their bats were literally crushing everything, it did not matter where the pitch was thrown. High, low, outside, inside, ball everything was being crushed and therefore they ended up with a 9-1 score over their rival Yankees to bring the game back to New York. C.C. Sabathia did not last four innings and the bullpen and defense was not much help either. The Yankees hope to put a stop to the Red Sox streak next game to make sure nothing like 2004 happens again, their pitching and offense have to be on top of their game in the next match. Yankees will send out A.J. Burnett (1-0, 1.32) against Justin Duchscherer (0-1, 9.00).

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))

Yankees Clinch 2010 World Series:

After scary Games 4 and 5 the New York Yankees have finally clinched the 2010 world series preventing a repeat of 2004. They will now be taking on the San Francisco Giants who are filled with great pitchers, to top things off the Giants have home field advantage for the world series. Celebrations occurred after the game after a sweet victory for the New York Yankees. "This is very exciting, I'm really looking forward to experiencing the world series," Francisco Liriano said after the game. "My first two years in New York have been great, making it to the world series both years," Mark Teixeira said with his goggles on in the locker room. The Yankees will celebrate tonight but then will get back to preparing for the world series. "They outplayed us, we were unable to stop them, they deserved to win," Terry Francona said after the game. The Yankees will now start thinking about taking number 28 to New York.
