Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))
Yankees Too Much For Mariners
The Yankees now have an 11 Game winning streak heading into the all star break. Ironically enough the winning streak started when they played their third game against Seattle back at Yankees Stadium July 1st. Since that win they have swept the Blue Jays, the Athletics, and now the Mariners in four games. In the last five games four out of the 5 Yankee Starters went for a complete game, that is very very impressive considering pitching was the Yankees biggest struggle. The only pitch that did not go a complete game was AJ Burnett who went seven and a third allowing seven hits on two earned runs and seven strike outs, still a very good start. The Yankees offense and pitching have been dominant and it now shows how scary this team really is with their offense working and their pitching at the top I think any team would be scared of playing the Yankees, lucky for the other teams they now have a four day break for the all star game. This is what General Manager had to say about his team performances, "I believe that the team is getting fired up, the trade for Dernard Span, Francisco Liriano, and Jon Rauch definitely help fire up the team. There are twenty five men right now that want to take it all, they want to go all the way and have a repeat year and take home number 28, that is our goal and I am very proud of the team so far, heading to the all star break with an eleven game winning streak is impressive."

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))
Wild Pitch by Gregg in the 10th costs Al the game
Both teams did not have a good night with pitching but in the end it was the National League that came out victorious giving the National League home field advantage for this year's world series. It was a close game throughout the entire game, however it was a wild pitch by Gregg with one out in the 10th that put a runner in scoring position and that runner would score right away, had the wild pitch not happened the game could have gone entirely different. The AL threatened a little in the bottom of the 10th with Vlad getting a lead off single which was short lived by a double play from Carlos Santana. Jeter managed to get himself on base but Nelson Cruz would end the game with a strikeout.

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))
July 13, 2010 :Twins Sign Jermaine Dye
The Twins have gone ahead and signed free agent Jermaine Dye to a three year 14.91 million dollar contract. "We are very happy to bring aboard Jermaine Dye. He is a great veteran and brings great experience to our club," Twins general manager said earlier today. We called Jermaine Dye ask him how he felt about going to the Minnesota Twins, he had this to say, "I am very happy to go to a ball club that is competitive, they showed great interest in me, made me an offer that I liked and signed. I'm very happy with my decision and I'm ready to play some baseball." We asked Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports if he thought this signing made since. "In the short term yes it makes since especially since they have recently traded away their outfielder Dernard Span, however seeing as how Jermaine Dye is only 36 and showed signs of slowing down big time last year, we have yet to see if he is going to be worth the four point seven million for the first year, four point nine million for the second year, and a five point two million before the end of the third. Of course there's always the chance he could be traded away in the next two seasons." |

Re: New York Yankees Franchise(GM:Andre (me))
Earlier today the new General Manager of the New York Yankees, Andre allowed fr us to interview him about the second half of this season.
Now that the all star game is over what do you look for in the second half of the season? In the second half of the season I look forward to another strong outing from the team hopefully we can do great and move on to the post season I really think we have the right team to go all the way and win it, but then again this is baseball and a game can be played there are plenty of other tough teams out there hungry for a title as well. We know it's still early but your team has a lot of players with contracts expiring after this season, players such as Cliff Lee, Francisco Liriano, Jon Rauch, Dernard Span, Lance Berkman, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Derek Jeter, Marcus Thames, Jason Frasor, Kerry Wood, anything you can tell us about the plans with these players? Ha, well you know we still have a lot of baseball to be played so I'll leave any thoughts on that for the end of the season, all these guys are great and I'm happy to have them in the team right now. There was a time where you were in talks with the Mariners to get Ian Snell, but there were also rumors that you were very interested in Jamie Moyer, was Ian your first choice or was it Jamie? I don't really think I had a first choice, I had scouts check them both out, and the scouts liked what they saw in both granted they aren't having the best of seasons but in the end I felt like it would be easier to acquire Ian Snell because Philadelphia is competing for a playoff spot, so I'm sure they'd want something more, But in the end I'm happy with Francisco Liriano he has had two solid starts for us so that's always good. The All Star Game this year went towards the NL, are you worried about not having home field advantage? Well it would have been nice to win the all star game, but I'm not worried at all, we have a 35-12 road record thats really good last time I checked. So in the end yes it would have been nice to have home field advantage if we make it to the world series but it's nothing to worry about. You have made some pretty big and risky moves this season, you acquired Lee when his ERA was over 5, acquired Liriano when his ERA was over 6, how do you feel about those trades now? Yes they were having bad years but at the same time we all know they are great pitchers the risk has paid off so far, Lee was two and five when he came to us, he is now seven and five so he is five and o with our team, his ERA is exactly five now, and Liriano's era is under six, so I think they were great additions. Not to mention Frasor has been good from the pen and Rauch has too. Dernard Span another great addition to our offense. Thank you for your time Andre No problem. There has also been rumors that the Yankees are looking at some free agents but Andre has given us no comment on that, however inside sources say that it's nothing major, they tell us that the Yankees are looking for free agents for their minor league system, it seems like General Manager Andre wants their minor league teams to be more competitive next year than they are this year and so he wants to replenish his farm system, don't be surprised seeing Kearns and Marte traded away either at some point. |
