Hometown Kid Enters MLB Draft
Pittsburgh - 6'6" pitcher Sam Greuel has decided to enter the MLB draft and to not go to college. Greuel, 18, features a 94-96 MPH fastball and a nasty sinker. Thanks to the advice of his high-school coaches, he added a changeup last year so he could be an effective starting pitcher. Over his 4-year span of high school athletics, Greuel had a 3.93 ERA, allowing 17 home runs and striking out 93 batters through 101 innings pitched. He is projected by many experts to go somewhere between the 13th and 14th rounds.
