Re: "Holy Cow!" | A Chicago Cubs Franchise (2K11)

Chicago- Arizona ended up taking this series after falling in the first game. Randy Wells lost his first start of the year in a 1-0 loss. The following day Matt Garza allowed 7 as the Cubs offense couldn't get going, scoring only one run.

Chicago gets a day off before their 1 and a half week long road trip against the Brewers, Astros and Rockies. The Cubs are listed as #2 in Mlb.com's power rankings behind the New York Mets. They are even in the lead of the NL Central with a 4-2 record. But, the one thing that matters to most fans is that the Cardinals are sporting a 1-5 record.

[remember, I only play one game per series, that may change depending on how bored I get. But played games get full recaps.]

Man, I don't know if Pena has hit for this high of avg since Little League.

Nice trade for Kazmir. Man his value sure has gone down the past 2 years.

I know, Kazmir from what I remember wasn't that bad, I really don't/didn't follow the Rays, but he had pretty good numbers. It's like he regressed when he went to the Angels.

And with Pena, I'm patient, very very patient. I find his pitch and jack it. If I'm not mistaken I think he has 4 home runs so far. His power is crazy good too, so that helps.

Yes, definitely. One of those little details 2K11 really nails...it makes it really tough to mount a rally later in the game if it is a home game that started earlier in the afternoon.

Nice trades. Kazmir could still be useful and hopefully he will be for your Cubbies.

Game 1
The Cubs take game one of the series, 7-1. Zambrano gets the win improving him to 2-0. J.D Drew had his best game in a Chicago uniform, going 4 for 5 with a home run. He also had 3 RBI.

Game 2
Aramis Ramirez, who homered in game one started game off two with a 2 run jack. Dempster was credited with the win, final score 4-1.

In game three Dallas Braden showed that he was solidifying himself in the lineup. Braden now 2-0 has stepped up and showed that he is the lefty the Cubs were looking for. Hopefully he can keep up this form throughout the season. Also, the bats showed up big in this game. With 4 home runs the offense shows no sign of slowing down.
