2011 Season Preview

The Dbacks are looking to improve after a 97 lost season in 2010, The team has a few bright spots in the big leagues. Justin Upton looks to showcase that he can be a franchise player after having a down second season in the big leagues. Stephen Drew and Chris Young look to take some leadership on this team, and hope to make this team a contender, Young who had a career high 91 rbi's in 2010 looks to improve that, Young had a career high of a .251 batting average he is hoping to improve on that again. First year manager Kirk Gibson thinks this team can win 78-84 games this season, Gibson said Upton had a great swing batting .451 with 3 homeruns and 12 rbi's, Miguel Montero returns after being injuried and had a steller swing also.

The pitching rotation has some new faces in Zach Duke and Armando Galarraga. Daniel Hudson will look to be the face of the pitching staff, after having 8 wins and a 2.45 era in his first year in Arizona. Kirk Gibson said Hudson will be on limited to 180.0 innings this season. Zach Duke a highly regarded prospect with Pittsburgh looks for a change of place to showcase his talents. The dbacks will be counting on Joe Saunders to take the leadership of the rotation after having a rockie first season in Arizona. The bullpen will be a huge question mark outside of set-up man Aaron Heilman and closer J.J. Putz. Rookie Zach Kroenke made the roster and will be the only lefty their.
