Restoring the Tribe - Cleveland Indians Franchise

Rosters: OS Full Minors
Sliders: TNK-PB Perfect Sliders

Goal: To trade away aging vets, build the team up with youngsters and restore the pride of Cleveland. I will only be playing the 1st game of each series while simming the rest of them. I will only post updates every 2 weeks, after the Sunday game, and will post if any trades are made in between.

Trade

Early in April is not usually a time for teams to make trades, but the new GM of the Cleveland Indians stated when he took the job he was going to build this team up with youngsters. That is exactly what he did late Tuesday night. He sent vetern Orlando Cabrera to the St Louis Cardinals for 3 prospects. Of the 3, Shelby Miller leads the list. Miller who the Cards drafted with their first pick in the 2009 MLB Draft, is just 20 years of age, and will be thrown right into action taking a spot in the Indians Rotation. It is not known who will be moved to the Pen but it will take place soon. As for the other two new Indians, Matt Carpenter, a third basemen, who is 26 years of age, had a great spring, before getting sent down to AAA Memphis. He along with young righty Tyrell Jenkins, who was the Cards supplement round pick this past year will report to AAA Clippers. Lonnie Chisenhall has been called up to replace Orlando in the lineup with Hannahan moving to Second Base. This is just the beginning of trade for the Tribe, as the GM is looking to build a foundation of young promising players.

St Louis Cardinals Recieve:
Short Stop Orlando Cabrera

Cleveland Indians Recieve:
Starting Pitcher Shelby Miller (20 yrs old)

Third Baseman Matt Carpenter

Starting Pitcher Tyrell Jenkins (18 yrs old)

Re: Restoring the Tribe - Cleveland Indians Chise

Nice! I love that trade for your team. Shelby Miller is going to be a monster when he gets called up. Carpenter should be able to help down the road too. And holy cow, Kearns is tearing the cover off to start the year.

Yes he is, and I actually have Miller up, he is going to be may number 3 pitcher right now. It will be just one of many trades that are going to shake up my team. This is the reason I picked the Indians is to rebuild with young players and take them to glory. Thanks for following.
