Re: Fantasy Draft Franchise - Seattle Mariners
Seattle Mariners weekly
June 5th - June 11th
The big story this week is catcher Carlos Santana returns from his pulled calf injury is is integrated slowly back into the lineup. Santana goes 1-12, 1 RBI, 1 R, 3 BB, 2 SO and 1SB since his return on the 7th of June.
The Mariners go 5-2 for the week, and getting to see Josh Beckett in full action 2 times, winning both contests. Beckett now improves to an outstanding 10-3 with only a 1.44 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. The M's looked to have picked up a strong candidate for the Cy Young this year and will help the young stars in the rotation. Pineda wins and advances to 6-6 on the season as well as Barry Zito getting his 6th win and at a calm 6-4.
Josh Beckett's first win as a Mariner
Evan Longoria gets his 100th career home run this week and Longoria is slowly getting out of his slump going 9-24, 5 RBI, 2 HR, 4BB, and 3 K's. Domonic Brow continues to crush the ball and Jacoby Ellsbury starts to hit his way out of the slump he has been in as well.
Seattle still atop the AL West is slowly taking a bigger lead each week as the Los Angeles Angels fall to 3rd place at 33-33, 5.5 games back of the Mariners and the Oakland Athletics move into 2nd place at 34-33, 5 games back. The Mariners currently hold the best record in the MLB at 39-28 but the Brewers, Reds, and Padres are only 1/2 game back at 38-28, the Yankees also are in the run sitting on a 38-27 record.
MLB Standings as of June 12th
