St. Louis Cardinals (MLB 10)

Introduction
This will be one of the four dynasties I am going to run. I have decided that using my favorite teams is they way to keep my dynasties going. This will be a bare bones text dynasty as will be the other ones I am going to start up.
I have had some custom sliders that I have had forever for this game and I don't recall who made them. Please bear with me as far as a layout. I'm sure I will tweak it as I go along. Thanks for reading.

Re: St. Louis Cardinals (MLB 10)

Pitching Overview
The Cardinals may not have the best staff in the majors but it is pretty good. Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright, and Brad Penny will be a good core to build this team around as they can hold down their spots in the rotation. Closer Ryan Franklin also has a lot of talent and will be a lot of help for the St. Louis staff when they have the lead late in the game.
Starters:
Bullpen:
LRP Rich Hill - 3-3, 46 K's, 7.80 ERA
LRP Hans Smith - Rookie

Fielders Overview
The Cardinals return a core group of players, including all-world player Albert Pujols. Pujols will anchor the middle of the lineup followed by Ryan Ludwick in the clean up position. Catcher Yadier Molina will return with his unmatched defensive ability behind the plate. The Cardinals also bring in Matt Holliday who will be an excellent addition to this Cardinals team and help propel them to a good year.

Solid Righty Gets Best of Cardinals

The Cardinals can't get by talented right-hander Aaron Harang

Cincinnati, OH -- The Cardinals couldn't do much against the Reds yesterday, losing to the Reds by a 5-0 count in a contest of NL Central foes. Chris Carpenter, who lost and fell to 0-1 on the year, worked 6 and a third innings, allowing 5 runs and 6 hits. In a rather quiet day at the plate, Colby Rasmus was the lone bright spot, going 1-for-3. Manager Tony La Russa was asked what he thought of the game, "Chris Carpenter didn't have the his best stuff today and we didn't get the offense to bail him out."

The two teams take today off before going back at it tomorrow night, with Adam Wainwright (0-0, 0.00) and the Cardinals geared up to oppose Edinson Volquez (0-0, 0.00).

St. Louis - 0
Cincinnati - 5

SP Chris Carpenter: 6.1 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 8 K
RP Joel Motte: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K
CF Colby Rasmus: 1-3, 1 K

NL Central Standings
1. Cincinnati Reds (1-0)
2. Milwaukee Brewers (1-0)
3. Houston Astros (1-0)
4. Chicago Cubs (1-0)
5. St. Louis Cardinals (0-1)
6. Pittsburgh Pirates (0-1)

Tough Righty Throttles Cardinals

The Cardinals are taken down by tough right-hander Edinson Volquez,
who picks up the win for the Reds

Cincinnati, OH -- The Cardinals gave their NL Central foes a solid fight last night, but in the end the Reds picked up a 2-1 victory at Great American Ball Park. Adam Wainwright, who allowed 2 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings of work, took the loss, dropping his record to 0-1. Matt Holliday went 1-for-4 with 1 HR, in what has an unusually slow day at the plate.

The series ends this afternoon, with the Cardinals' Kyle Lohse (0-0, 0.00) and the Reds' Bronson Arroyo (0-0, 0.00) as the probable starters.

St. Louis - 1
Cincinnati - 2

Sweeping Defeat For Cardinals

Road woes continue for Cardinals, who are swept by Reds

Cincinnati, OH -- The Cardinals played deep into the night last night, but ended up on the losing end of a 4-3 NL Central contest, as Cincinnati prevailed in 10 innings. Kyle Lohse worked 7 innings, alllowing 2 runs and 6 hits, and while that was good enough for a quality start (his 1st of the season), it wasn't good enough for a win. Ryan Franklin gave up 2 runs out of the bullpen, not only blowing a save but also taking the loss. Matt Holliday came through with only one hit, but it went the distance to give the offense a much-needed jolt. Bronson Arroyo reached a milestone in the game, picking up career strikeout number 1000.

Tonight the Cardinals are in Milwaukee opening the series with Brad Penny (0-0, 0.00) opposing Doug Davis (0-0, 0.00) and the Brewers.

St. Louis - 3
Cincinnati - 4

LF Matt Holliday: 1-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R
CF Colby Rasmus: 2-4, Double, R

1. Cincinnati Reds (3-0)
2. Milwaukee Brewers (3-0)
3. Chicago Cubs (3-0)
4. Houston Astros (2-1)

The Cardinals and Brewers do battle at Miller Park again this afternoon, with Blake Hawksworth (0-0, 0.00) squaring off against Jeff Suppan (0-0, 0.00)
