Trade talks imminent

After talking to Jack Z, the Mariners GM, he said "A trade is very likely to occure soon, i wont say names, but some of our older prospects, that have the talent, just might need a new change of scenery". "Guti is a great player, is tremendous in the field, just has bad luck, he's a great guy, but at the age of 29, he isnt exactly part of the youth movement, if he comes back and is on fire, we may resign him, but he has been struggleing with injuries, and with his bat, so its up in the air.

Almost a come back

With runners on second and third, two outs, Ichiro who was 2-4 stepped to the plate, and hit a ball to shallow left and David Murphey made yet another sensational catch to give the Rangers a win, and a series win.

End of the month report

Top 3 cold

1-Michael Saunders was called up to replace Trayvon Robinson, and has yet again, not lived up to expectations, hitting just .80 with 2 hits in 25 at bats. He has the skills, he just hasnt put them together, he may need a change of scenery.

2- Chone Figgins was sent to the bench and became the utility player since they acquired Chase Headley, he is only hitting .203 with 1 homer, 5 runs batted in, and 28 hits in 138 at bats. He could be cut with all the young minors expected to come up soon.

3- Brandon League has been lights out all year, but the last week hasnt been good at all, blowing a few saves and having his ERA rise from the 2's to 4.43.

Top 3 hot

1- Felix Hernandez has been lights out this month lowering his ERA and has been just dominant, he is red hot and is looking to continue his success into the month of June.

2- Dustin Ackley raised his average to .304. He started the month off cold but turned red hot during the month, and has been hitting phenominal.

3- Chase Headley was traded the the M's on the 19th, and he raised his batting average and has been on a tear ever since being traded to the Mariners, he's showed he has power, and some flashes with his glove.

The Mariners went 17-11 this month and that puts them at a record of 33-19. And first place in the AL West up 4.5 games over the Rangers.

Up next Erasmo Ramirez takes on Jake Peavy and the White Sox in a 3 game series before heading to Las Angelas and facing the Angels.

Trade News

Jack Z announced today that the Mariners traded away former prospect Carlos Triunfel SS (C), Michael Saunders CF (B), and LF Casper Wells (B) to the Twins for LF Ben Revere (B), and RF Oswaldo Arcia (B). The Twins are in first place like the M's, and with this trade they get a LF in Casper Wells to replace Revere. Wells, isnt even on the major league squad but hitting .344 in AAA. And they get former prospects in Triunfel, and Saunders. Saunders has the tools, just hasnt pit them together and could use a change of scenery. And Triunfel, a short stop, which is a big weakness for the Twins. The Physicals are still pending so the trade isnt yet complete.

There's a reason Erasmo went for a complete game, he didnt allow a run and allowed just 8 hits. Liddi who was just called up hit a homer, along with Ackley who hit one in the first inning.
