Re: Rewriting History A Chicago Cubs Franchise

I seen that you've moved Byrd; but about having any suggestions on trades, you just have to put together some trades and see how interested other teams are and to see what you can get. I traded LaHair and I don't know how open you are to doing that, but there's a number of teams that are very interested in him. I planned on keeping Dempster, but I wanted to move Soto, Byrd and Marmol at the deadline if I could. I don't really know of any closing prospects worth trading for, but I'm thinking about moving Rafael Dolis into the closing role at some point in the season.

It says the Nats scored 9 in the ninth but they only scored 6 runs the entire game. BTW really like this dynasty.

Re: Rewriting History A Chicago Cubs Franchise

Okay it's time for me to get back to baseball. Couldn't play Saturday because we had an Easter Egg hunt for the kids at Church Saturday morning, then Saturday evening my niece got married so I had to go to that. Then Sunday was Easter so me and my Family got up and went to the 8:00 Easter service at Church, stayed for 10:00 Sunday school and the 11:00 service, then went and spent the rest of Easter with the family. So I had no time for my Show Franchise. My wife is now back in college working on her masters so I'll have plenty of free time at night to play some baseball, also it's time to get to work as my man Mr.Cub has already put some distance on me and getting pretty far in his franchise.

Re: Rewriting History A Chicago Cubs Franchise

With the wind blowing out at Wrigley, Bryce Harper went 3-5 hitting his first career homerun In The Nationals 9-2 win against the Cubs. Also hitting homers was former Cub Mark DeRosa, Wilson Ramos, and Ryan Zimmerman as the Nats took 2 out of 3 against the Cubs to start the season. Anthony Rizzo homered for the Cubs as they just couldn't get anything going. After the game Cubs manager Dale Sveum was quoted as saying "It's only 3 games into the season but we need to play up to the level we're capable of. Ourbullpen just isn't getting the job done, and we've got to be more patient at the plate. We're not getting enough walks and striking out way too much for my liking."

Tomorrow the Cubs begin a 4 game series against the Milwaukee Brewers at home.

Re: Rewriting History A Chicago Cubs Franchise

The Cubs bats come to life as they took game 1 against the Brewers 13 -5. Bryan LaHair hit a pair of homeruns and knocked in 4, Reed Johnson also went deep for his first homer of the season. Ryan Dempster pitched a gem allowing only 1 run in 8 1/3 innings pitched walking 4 while striking out 10. Scott Maine come in with 1 out in the 9th as Dempster's pitch total was at 125 and gave up 3 runs without recording an out. Marcos Mateo was then brought in and gave up 1 run while getting the final 2 outs. After the game the Cubs sent down Mateo and Maine to triple A Iowa and called up Rafael Dolis and recently acquired prospect 21 year old Arodys Vizcaino, to try and help a struggling bullpen. Tonight for game 2 the Cubs will send out Chris Volstad for his first start as a member of the Chicago Cubs.

Re: Rewriting History A Chicago Cubs Franchise

Chris Volstad leaves after 5 1/3 innings with a blister, in taking the loss to the Brewers he is listed as day to day. Aramis Ramirez in his return to Wrigley homered and knocked in 3. Also hitting homeruns for the Brewers was Mat Gamel and Alex Gonzalez as the Brewers won big 15-5. The Brewers lead 4-3 at the time of Volstad's exit but the Cubs bullpen continued struggles gave up 11 runs in 3 2/3 innings.
