Cubs and Tigers Agree To Trade:

Chicago, IL – The Chicago Cubs have made an early season trade to hopefully spark their dismal offense that is currently 30th in Majors. Chicago acquired 3B Brandon Inge from Detroit for prospects SP Ben Wells and IF Marquez Smith.

Brandon Inge has seen little playing time early in the season especially with Miguel Cabrera moving to third with the Tigers offseason signing of superstar first baseman Prince Fielder, Inge welcomed the trade to the Cubs who have struggled at 3rd on defence and in the batter’s box “I am grateful f or my time in Detroit and I always will be, but this trade gives me a chance to see some regular time at 3rd and hopefully help the Cubs reach the playoffs”. Inge will make his Cubs debut against the struggling Cincinnati Reds who are currently sitting at 3-10.

The Cubs also signed SP/RP Armando Galarraga to a 2 yr/$1.1 Million deal with hopes that he can help stabilize the Cubs bullpen issues that have cost them at least 5 games this season. To make room for Galarraga and Inge the Tigers DFA’d 2B Alfredo Amezaga and OF Joe Mather and sent RP Lendy Castillo to Triple A Iowa.

All jokes aside, rough start to the season. May be a bit premature, but got any plans to scrap some veterans in deals for prospects to help you build for the next couple years?

EDIT: Just saw the deal for Inge, you want a bad player who will strike out 200 times and make 25-30 errors but seriously, he can't be much of an upgrade over your current 3B can he?

Inge is a player i have liked for a few years, i offered them some prospects that i would never use and they took it, if he can get hot i could be in for a nice year, the main reason i took Inge was his D is actually solid and Stewart and DeWitt have been throwing over 1st or even 2nd base quite frequently, so i needed some one that could step up and not make any mistakes on D.

About trading i sure i am, the Cubs have struggled for a while, i really want to move Byrd, Soriano and maybe Marmol.

But i will wait a little bit before i do that.
