Report:
GM Margieson spoke about the game today,
"Brandon Morrow was selected as my opening day pitcher because he was outstanding for us this spring. I feel he showed all of us today why he is the ace of my staff and why he feels he is one of the best in the game. He was completely dominant until the sixth inning where he allowed a Dan Uggla 3 run home run, however he recovered extremely well and pitched through the following inning allowing no more hits. Young Arodys Vizcaino showed us today why he is ready to be at this level with 2 dominant hitless relief innings. Morrow was supported by a number of strong bats which included home runs from Wright, Francoeur, 2 from both Jones and Hardy, aswell as supporting his own cause by a home run of his own. I look forward to a season with this team."

Margiesons report:
"Edwin Jackson was not himself today, he had no control over his pitches and his teams fielding did not help. Jacksons ERA is sky high after todays beating where he allowed 3 home runs in the first inning. However even though he pitched so poorly he still got a no decision. This was because again my boys power showed up and the long ball struck. Vizcaino pitched another hitless relief inning which was followed by 3 mets runs, this gave us the lead. My rookie set up man Boxberger came in for the 8th, he pitched a very poor inning allowing 2 runs and putting a blown save next to his pitching line and losing the win for Vizcaino. However again we struck in the 8th to pull us level. Another rookie came in to pitch for the 9th Rafeal Dolis, he pitched a perfect inning allowing no hits or walks. Lightening then struck for us when Jason Kipnis pitch hit for Dolis in the bottom of the 9th, he hit a huge 445ft home run which won the game for us. There will certainly be some celebrating in the changing room now."
