Fielder Continues to Impress, Tigers Win 9-2
If any Detroit Tiger fans had doubts about the signing of Prince Fielder, he is quickly putting those doubts to rest. Fielder had 3 more hits, giving him 5 hits in his first two games in a Tiger uniform. Fielder also had 3 runs, 2 RBIs, and a 439 foot bomb to the stands in right center in the 5th inning. Tiger starter Doug Fister allowed just 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings to get his first win of the year.
Detroit started out fast, battering Redsox starter Clay Bucholz for 5 first inning runs. The first five Tiger hitters all got hits and scored. Detroit added 2 in the third. Fielder singled, then Delmon Young singled to right. However Redsox right fielder Ryan Sweeney let the ball go under his glove as he charged the ball. The error allowed Fielder to come all the way around to score and left Young on third. He then scored on a sacrifice fly from Alex Avila. Fielder hit his mammoth homerun in the 5th and the Tigers finished their scoring in the 6th with an RBI triple from Brennan Boesch to score Austin Jackson.
Detroit improved to 2-0 and looks to sweep the series tomorrow.

I've really liked your Detroit Pistons association so I'll definitely be following this! Hopefully the first couple of games were signs of things to come.

I hope so, although it is important to remember the the real life Tigers of 2012 swept the Sox in the opening series as well and they are currently two games under .500.
glad to hear you enjoyed my Pistons dynasty, which I will be continuing to work on as well.

Tigers Fall Behind Early Again, Lose 5-4
The Boston Redsox raced to a 4-0 lead with Centerfielder Jacoby Ellsbury hitting a homerun to leadoff the game and three more runs on Tiger starter Max Scherzer to follow. The Tigers came back for the 2nd time in the series with an RBI double by Gerald Lair, a homerun by Brennan Boesch, and a game-tying two run homerun by Delmon Young in the bottom of the 7th. However in the top of the 8th the Redsox came right back with a run on a single by Dustin Pedroia to score pinch-runner Nick Punto. Andrew Bailey finished the 9th for the Redsox to earn his first save of the season.

Tigers Come From Behind Again, 9-5, Concerned About Rough Starts
The Detroit Tigers could make a whole lot easier for themselves if they didn't insist on spotting the other team a 4 or 5 run lead every game. For the third game in 4, the Tigers have fell behind by a score of at least 4-0, in this case 5-0, but were able to come back again. In all three games, the Tigers have come back to tie or take the lead, and have managed to win two of the three. However Manager Jim Leyland is concerned. "We need better starting pitching right now. I like our offense, but we have to pitch better the first 3 or 4 innings."
Tiger starter Rick Porcello cruised through the first inning but was tagged with a solo homerun by ex-Tiger Carlos Pena in the 2nd inning. In the third, Porcello gave up a single to Elliot Johnson and a double to Jose Molina before Desmond Jennings homered to left to give the Rays a 4-0 lead. After getting two groundouts, Porcello gave up consecutive doubles to Pena and B.J. Upton to stretch the lead to 5-0. Porcello took an early shower and Duane Below came in to strike out ex-Tiger Matt Joyce to end the inning. Detroit immediately began to strike back with 3 runs in the bottom of the third. Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, and Delmon Young all had RBI hits to pull within 5-3. The Tigers took the lead in the 4th thanks to a double by Ryan Raburn that scored Jhonny Peralta, an error by Johnson on an Austin Jackson groundout that scored Raburn, and a groundout by Cabrera to score Jackson. Detroit added to the lead in the 6th with an RBI single by Brennan Boesch and an RBI single by Victor Martinez. Martinez added his third RBI of the night in the 8th with a double down the left field line to score Boesch and make it 9-5.
Below and the rest of the Tiger bullpen were superb. Below threw 4 1/3 innings, giving up just one hit and striking out 5 Rays. Joaquin Benoit and Brayan Villarreal both threw a scoreless inning and struck out two Ray hitters each.
Detroit improved to 4-1 and will start Justin Verlander tomorrow against James Shields with a 1 PM start at Comerica Park.

Re: Detroit Tigers: Going for Broke in 2012 (MLB the Show 2012)
Tigers Unable To Get Offense Going, Lose 1-0 To White Sox
The Detroit Tigers were unable to solve the White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd or any of the three relievers either. Detroit finished with just 4 hits, all singles. Detroit made 14 flyball outs, including 5 on the warning track, with Miguel Cabrera flying out to the centerfield wall in the 9th inning. The White Sox only had 4 hits themselves, but used a double by Dayan Viciedo to score A.J. Pierzynski, who had walked. That was all the scoring the Sox needed to get the victory at home in the opening game of the series.
Detroit only threatened once, aside from deep flyballs. In the 5th, Prince Fielder singled and then took 2nd on a bold tagup of a flyout in foul territory to leftfielder Viciedo. After Delmon Young popped out for the 2nd out of the inning, Alex Avila singled sharply to left, with Fielder only able to advance to third. Jhonny Peralta then struck out to end the Tigers only threat. White Sox starter Floyd pitched six shutout innings, striking out 2 and giving up all 4 Tiger hits. Reliever Will Ohman came on with 1 baserunner in the top of the 7th and got all three outs, including a strikeout without allowing a hit. Hector Santiago threw a scoreless 8th and Addison Reed got his third save of the year with a scoreless ninth. Tiger starter Max Scherzer also threw six innings, striking out 8 and giving up 4 hits and the one run. Phil Coke came in the 7th with a baserunner on and struckout Pierzynski. Octavio Dotel then came in and finished the game with 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
