Re: Oakland Athletics Dynasty (MLB 12 THE SHOW)

Game 1 Oakland Athletics-4 Seattle Mariners-3

Athletics record 1-0

W-Jerry Blevins (1-0)
L-Shawn Camp (0-1)
S Brian Fuentes (1)

Late mistakes by mariners propel Athletics to victory.

After Brandon McCarthy gave up a sac fly to Justin Smoak in the top of the 2nd,Kurt Suzuki blasted a 399 ft bomb off of Felix Hernandez to tie the game at 1.Casper Wells hit his second double of the game to lead off the fourth. Having 1st and 3rd one out Kyle Seager hit into a fielders choice and picked up the RBI.Jemile Weeks tied it in the 5th with an RBI groundout to score Coco Crisp from third. With two out in the 7th Kyle Seager blasted a solo home run to put the Mariners ahead, and would knock Brandon McCarthy out of the game.

Going into the bottom of the 7th King Felix had only allowed the one hit to Suzuki but had walked 5.With one out,Suzuki hit a chopper in the hole,Ryan would knock it down but the throw would be to late for an infield hit.The next batter Cliff Pennington hit a double play ball to second, but Dustin Ackley threw the ball over shortstop Brendan Ryans head and it rolled all the way into leftfield.Suzuki would score and Pennington would go to 3rd on the throwing error.Shawn Camp would come on to strike out Coco Crisp. Then with 2 outs Jemile Weeks singled home Pennington.

Blevins,Balfour, and Fuentes combined for 2.1 IP to nail down the win. Blevins got the win,Fuentes the save.

Both starters pitched well but ended up with a no desicion as Shawn Camp took the loss while giving up 1 unearned run.

McCarthy 6.2IP 7H 3R 3ER 1BB 2K
Hernandez 6.1IP 2H 3R 3ER 5B 6K

SEA-Wells 3-4 3 2B,R
OAK-Suzuki 2-3 HR(1),2R

The mariners scored 3 runs on 10 hits, while the A's scored 4 runs on just 3 hits.

Re: Oakland Athletics Dynasty (MLB 12 THE SHOW)

Game 2 Oakland Athletics-3 Seattle Mariners-2

W-Ryan Cook (1-0)
L-Chance Ruffin (0-1)

Athletics record 2-0

Rookie provides walk-off in 11th.

Seth Smith blasted a solo home run to dead center in the second, and Barton had a rbi single in the 6th and that's all the athletics got off Kevin Millwood as he went 8 strong.Brett Anderson allowed no runs on 2 hits through 6. But after an error by left fielder Seth Smith, Mike Carp and Franklin Gutierrez hit back to back doubles to tie the game up.The athletics bullpen held the mariners scoreless for four strait inning.Devine,Blevins, and Balfour combined for 1.1 innings of work. Fuentes got a few big outs in the 9th/10th going 1.1 ip.

Ryan Cook came on in the 10th pitched the entire 11th to retire all 5 batters he faced. In the bottom of the 11th Chance Ruffing came in for Seattle. Jemile Weeks lead off with a single.Daric Barton then sacrificed him to 2nd. Then stepped in Yoenis Cespedes who was stilling searching for his first big league hit. He took a 3-2 slider in to the left-center field gap to win the game for the Athletics.

Anderson 6.2IP 4H 2R 1ER 1BB 5K
Millwood 8IP 6H 2R 2ER 0BB 1K

Game 3 of the series is tomorrow as it will be veteran Bartolo Colon taking on young lefty Jason Vargas.

As playing this franchise I strongly believe the A's can be a winning team. We just need to run the bases and catch the ball as we are one of the fastest teams in the league and have speedy outfielders. I am very confident in our bullpen but if we are going to make a playoff run I beleive we will need to pick up a power hitting third baseman and a middle of the rotation starter.

Re: Oakland Athletics Dynasty (MLB 12 THE SHOW)

Game 3 Athletics-3 Mariners-2

Athletics record 3-0

W-Bartolo Colon (1-0)
L-Jason Vargas (0-1)
S-Brian Fuentes (2)

Veterans shine in game 3 of series.

Manny Ramirez singled home Yoenis Cespedes in the bottom of the first inning to give the A's an early lead. Mike Carp would answer back with a solo home run to left field in the 2nd. Bartolo Colon would settle down but after allowing a couple hits to lead off the 4th he was faced with 1st and 2nd with no outs. He proceeded to strike out the side in the 4th and the 5th! In the bottom of the 4th with 2 outs Manny Ramirez took a 3-2 changeup deep into the seats to regain the lead. But manny wasnt done,he hit yet another rbi single in the 6th inning. The mariners would scrape together another run against Bartolo but the A's bullpen shut them down as De Los Santos,Blevins,Devine ,Balfour, and Fuentes all pitched under an innings work but got the job done.

Colon- 6.1ip 5h 2r 2er 1bb 8k
Vargas-7ip 6h 3r 3er 1bb 2k

SEA-Carp 2-4 HR (1)
OAK-Ramirez 3-3 HR (1) 3 RBI,BB

The royals now come in for a 3 game set.

Re: Oakland Athletics Dynasty (MLB 12 THE SHOW)

Game 4 Athletics-2 Royals-3

Athletics record 3-1

A's lose heartbreaker in 13.

W-Collins (1-0)
L-Godfrey (0-1)
S-Soria (3)

With 2 outs in the second Yuniesky Betancourt tripled home a run off of Dallas Braden. Kurt Suzuki would answer back with an rbi double off of Aaron Crow. The A's would take the lead in the 3rd with an rbi single by Cespedes scoring Weeks. Hosmer would hit a sac fly in the 5th. Then the scoring stopped. Braden went 7 and a third then came in Graham Godfrey making his season debut. Godfrey threw 5 and a third of perfect baseball until Alex Gordon blasted a solo home run off of the bottom of the foul poll in right. Yoenis Cespedes would hit into a double play to end the game which was VERY close at first. I'm pretty sure Jim Joyce was the 1st base umpire that game.

Braden-7.1ip 9h 2r 2er 1bb 5k
Godfrey 5.2ip 1h 1r 1er 0bb 4k

Crow-7ip 6h 2r 2er 2bb 4k

KC-Gordon 3-6 HR (1) RBI,R
OAK-Suzuki 2-5 RBI

Tyson Ross and Everett Teaford face off tomorrow.

I lost this game on a human error

I meant to put in Fuentes to face Gordon (even though Godfrey hadn't allowed a single baserunner). But i accidently hit x so i tried to throw a fastball low and out of the strike zone but Gordon gulfed it right down the line.

After McCarthy gave up 3 hits in the 1st,he settled down.Sanchez cruised through 3 innings with no hits and 5 strikeouts. With one out in the 4th Yoenis Cespedes blasted his first career homer to tie the game up. Then to start off the 6th Jemile Weeks doubled into left-center.Seth Smith tried to sac him over to 3rd but ended up reaching as the bunt was perfectly placed down the 3rd base line. Yoenis would hit a shallow fly ball to left but Weeks would score and Smith would go over to 2nd. After Manny grounded to 2nd,Josh Donaldson provided an insurance run with a grounder up the middle. In the 7th,8th and 9th McCarthy had 1-2-3 inning with 5 strikeouts in the last 3 innings to cap off a complete game on just 108 pitches.

After a day off the A's travel up to Seattle as the mariners look for revenge.
