The 2012 Houston Astros
I've already started playing with the Astros and am on the last game of the series with the Washington Nationals. I will post some updates along with the roster, transactions, scores, and I will post stats at the end of the month. Stay tuned as there will be lots of work that has to be put in to ensure that the Astros are a contender in the future.

Re: The 2012 Houston Astros
Astros Top Nationals, Head Home for Weekend Washington, D.C. - The Houston Astros (5-8) were helped out by a great pitching performance from 21 year old Jordan Lyles on Thursday night as Lyles pitched six strong innings striking out nine and allowing only one run to help the Astros win two games in a row and head into a tie for fourth place in the National League Central with Chicago. Lyles was helped out on the night by J.D. Martinez leading things off in the second with a solo homer, his first of the season, to get things started. Shortly after, Matt Downs hit a double bringing in Brad Snyder who was recalled earlier on Thursday in place of the injured Brian Bogusevic. Lyles ended up helping his own cause shortly afterwards with a single to center plating Matt Downs to give the Astros a 3-0 lead. Turns out it would be all that Lyles would need on the night. Lyles was replaced by Sergio Escalona in the bottom of the seventh and despite Escalona allowing a two run homer to Jayson Werth, the game was all but over by that point as Werth's homer brought it to 7-3. The Astros head home tonight and will arrive early Friday morning in preparation for their weekend series with the Los Angeles Dodgers (6-7). Here are the probables for the weekend series: Fri. 4/20: Aaron Harang (0-2, 3.75) vs. J.A. Happ (0-1, 3.75) Sat. 4/21: Chris Capuano (0-0, 4.50) vs. Henry Sosa (0-1, 6.00) Sun. 4/22: Clayton Kershaw (1-1, 1.74) vs. Wandy Rodriguez (0-2, 1.61)
