My 2012 New York Yankee Franchise

So I started a franchise today with my favorite team, the yankees, and made a few moves to try and win it all this year.

First move- Russell Martin (back) to the dodgers for some middle reliever who I cut.

Second Move- Austin Romine and francisco cervelli promoted.

Third move- resign Jorge Posada to mentor young catchers.

Fourth move- Trade Hiroki Kuroda

Fifth move- I somehow got Chris Carpenter for a player with a lot of upside. I don't have force trades on.

I turned injuries off for the first time so I got pineda and pettitte and mo back so it could be start of the season.

My main focus with this franchise is to get younger and preserve the dynasty for the future. It is opening day against the rays and the lineup is:

I eventually will trade Swisher, but not this season. I want to win now, and after the season evaluate the team and decide whether or not to rebuild.

okay, minor trade to announce.

Tony Gwynn Jr to the Angels for Andrew romine. Uniting the bros is the way to go.

another trade, this one is big though. Chris Carpenter has been struggling in his time in new york, posting an ERA of over 5. I have traded him to Boston for Carl Crawford, who of course is struggling also. This is a stepping stone to trade Nick Swisher who is blazing hot right now. We need an infusion of talent to jumpstart us after having a slow start through the first week of June. The austin romine experiment has worked out so far to a degree, he is hitting .257 with 18 rbis and 4 homers.

Nick swisher has been traded to the dodgers for Dee Gordon. A lot of yankee fans will be mad to here that I have moved Jeter over to 3rd base and plan to trade Raul Ibanez to open up space at the DH for Arod, who is playing horribly in the field.

I have traded Ibanez to the Mets, to make it so he doesn't have to move again, for Jordany Valdspin. This is all just to free up the lineup and budget space. My roster as of June 11th 2012 is:

I sent Valdspin down to triple a for Betances because my bullpen is really tired and we are suffering because of it. At the end of June, here are the lineup's batting averages, home runs, and rbis.

Cano and Tex are having MVP caliber seasons, while Jeter is showing signs of retirement.
