Ya that's what I was thinking, I just hate how guys take one straight off the bat and bend over for a minute and are good to go again - plus gives me a chance to use minor leaguers too

Game 2 thread

Can Romero come back from an off season?

Someone forgot to tell the fans to show up, but it was 38 degrees so that could have something to do with it - hope SCEA gives the roof back to Rogers Centre

Chen leaves the ball out over the plate to Joeybats!

Jason Bay in his second AB as a Jay

Watch it go JB

6-4 after 8, time to bring in Casey to close it out

and the POG is?
Spoiler

Re: There aren't enough Blue Jays Franchises - here is another! Blue Jays 2013

Game 3, Dustin McGowan makes his return - I need McGowan to have a big year and healthy year for my Jays to be a success

3rd batter of the game is Alex Gordon

2 run shot from Gordon, up comes Billy Butler

3-0, 2 HRs, leaves Dustin scratchin his head

Jays finally get to bat against Danny Duffy down 3-0, Bautista comes up and does what he does best

3-2 after 1, this one has the makings of a day most pitching coaches dread

Salvador Perez comes up in the Top of 2 with 2 runners on

This is gonna be a long one!

Jason Bay would go deep for a solo shot in the bottom of 2, end of 2 it's 6-3

McGowan and Duffy would settle down for a while. Brad Lidge came in to pitch a scoreless 7th then Steve Delabar would give up 4 runs in the top of the 8th.

Then the highlight of the game - my first career HR

10-5 loss, I guess it's ok to lose once and a while. Bring on Boston and the return of John Farrell!

JA Happ pitched the first one against Dice- K and was a beast

CG Shutout, just what I needed after the previous game

Game 2 of the Boston series saw Jake Westbrook make his first start as a Blue Jay, let's see what he has, all I want is a veteren pitcher and some innings. Facing him was one of the prize pick ups of the big trade with LA Ruby De La Rosa.

Westbrook had a great start, Ruby not so much

Bautista and Lawrie celebrate Joeybat's 4th HR of the year

Next batter is Adam Lind

Hey Ruby - you having fun yet? Back to Back jacks!

2 batters later
Spoiler

BJ Birdie likes what he is seeing!

Not a bad start to a game against Boston

In the 5th, JP comes up again

Farrell has seen enough, 8-0

Andrew Miller would come in and allow 2 more runs 10-0 after 5, meanwhile Jake Westbrook earns his keep

In the 8th a tired Westbrook gave up a HR to Jerry Sands, he would get Aviles to fly out and leave to a standing O In comes Steve Delabar and his ugly ERA after the previous Sunday

Bottom of 8, in comes Yan Gomes to PH for Adam Lind

1 1/2 later the game is finally over - how bad was it?

Spoiler

How do you pick a player of the game after this one - too many to choose from?

I forgot to mention the outstanding performance from Anthony Gose, who before this game I contemplated sending down, instead sending Michael Brantley out to Vegas, Gose responded with a HR short of the cycle

Spoiler

Going to sim for a bit and play the last game on the series in TB and their new park (better known as Spring Training field American Greens Field)

I hate the Trop!

Jays 5-1 after opening homestand!

Re: There aren't enough Blue Jays Franchises - here is another! Blue Jays 2013

Great, I sim the first 2 games against TB and get to face Matt Moore, time to bring out my righty lineup - guess it's better then facing David Price who owns me in this game. Got JA Happ going for me after his shutout against Boston

Pretty nice field, JoeyBats likes it too! Bye bye baseball!

Highlight play by yours truely! Gotta love my handlebars too!

What happened on this day in Baseball?
Spoiler

JA Happ has it going again, the most amazing part was the pitch count

Another win! 7-3

And the POG for the second straight start?
Spoiler

Off to Minnesota then Texas to wrap up the road trip. I played one game in each stadium

Blue Jays lost 1 in Minnesota the took 2, off to Texas where McGowan and Delabar continued to give up runs like water through a paper bag.

Gotta say I love playing in Target Field, what a beautiful field with amazing back drops. Playing Game 3 of the Texas series. Morrow vs Darvish. Giving the screenshots a break.

Alex Antopoulos sat in his office listening to Jerry and Alan call the game on The Fan. And then it happened!

But Morrow is down on one knee and looks like he may be hurt. Out comes manager Garth Iorg and trainer George Poulis.

That ball did come off the bat pretty hard Jerry. When looking at the replay it appears to have struck him just below the knee of his right leg which is his puch off leg. It looks like Morrow is going to leave the game as he is helped off the field, definetly showing some pause to put much pressure on that leg. Let's hope this is just a precautionary move and everything works out ok. The Blue Jays cannot afford to lose Morrow for any length of time if they hope to compete this season. As Morrow leaves into the Blue Jays Dugout it appears that Brett Cecil is going to come into the game and will be asked to go a few innings........
Alex could not believe what he was hearing, could this be happening again? Is it time to wrap his entire pitching staff in bubble wrap?
