Blue Jays fire Farrell, Name Thompson New Manager



The Toronto Blue Jays announced after their victory against the Boston Red Sox that they have fired manager John Farrell. Many reports linked to the firing of Farrell to be because he had some controversies with some of his players. Farrell led the Blue Jays to a great 5-1 start to the season with a sweep of the Cleveland Indians. The Blue Jays also announced that they have hired former MLB outfielder Rich Thompson as the new manager for the rest of the 2012 season. The Blue Jays also announced that they have signed John Farrell to manage Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. He will replace Phil Son who passed away last week because of a stroke.
