All good capture cards are expensive, and I'm a fairly tech savvy person...feel like I can figure it out. Found a pretty good deal on Amazon for it, may purchase one within the next couple days (may not too lol, don't know for sure yet)

It's not that you need to be tech savy, it's that it's a pain to edit/export, can be a bit faulty, etc.

Really? I've heard nothing but good things about Elgato's card. Regardless...I think that's the one I'll be purchasing because I've heard a lot of good things about it haha, and the reviews really back that up

It works very well, just not as well for editing.

I'd go with that or Hauppage.

Re: Meaningless In Miami: A Miami Marlins Franchise (The Show)

I think the Elgato is phenomenal when it comes to editing and exporting. You edit the video in the same screen that you capture in -- just click a tab to switch to editing. The video is displayed on a timeline and all you have to do is drag a marker to the exact spot you want to slice and then click the "cut" button, then go to the end of the clip and cut it again. Click to highlight the parts you want to remove and hit delete on your keyboard. I could train my 7 yr old son how to do it and he would be able to.

The hardest part is tracking the edit points. I keep a notebook and write down the time stamp estimate of the highlights I want to show which makes it easier.

As far as exporting, there are multiple options but I always just export the edited video in the original mp4 format (there's a button for that). I then upload it to YouTube.

I literally can't think of anything in the process that could be done to make it easier other than the ability to flag live video for reference points for editing at a later point -- but I don't know of any software that does that.

I've had the thing only a week, but it took me probably two uses to figure it out. It's super simple.

Not to take this thread too off topic, but I find that it can be laggy, which can make finding the points to select a pain in the ***. Granted, I haven't tried it on anything but an i3. 35, what kinda processor do you have?

Off the top of my head, I haven't the slightest clue...but my computer runs well and fairly quickly as well. So I don't think that will be an issue for me

Then I stand by my recommendations of Hauppage or Elgato. Either way, some HD highlights should make this an awesome dynasty.
