National Pride, A Washington Nationals Dynasty (MLB 13)

Sliders: Armor & Sword's All-Star Sliders
Rosters: Default
Games: 162
Difficulty: All-Star
Platform: PS3/Vita

Comments: Here we go again, another year another Show franchise. However, this year my goal is to complete a 162 game season with 1 team for the first time. Helping my goal will be the fact that I have to move here in June, during the transition I am going to be picking up a Vita and not have much else to do so I will probably crank out a lot of games. I have been having a lot of fun playing this game, my sliders are perfect so hopefully this will be a fun ride and you guys will follow along.

Nationals Fall Just Shy of Sweep Against Marlins

Washington, D.C -- Talk about a start to a season. In game one, the Marlins would be the first one to reach the board in the 4th inning but that wouldn't last long as Steve Lombardozzi would drive in a run to tie it in the 6th inning. Then once again Lombardozzi, who finished a home run shy of the cycle, would drive in a run in the 8th off a double to give the Nationals enough lift to get the 2-1 victory after Rafael Soriano came in to shut the door in the 9th inning. In game two, Jordan Zimmermann pitched 6 innings giving up only 1 run which allowed the Nationals to pounce on the Marlins getting a 6-1 victory. Bryce Harper and Jayson Werth both hit home runs helping the Nationals get on the scoreboard. Game three was a constant back and forth both teams fighting back after going down to the other. However a home run given up in the 10th inning to Austin Kearns would be the dagger that helped the Marlins avoid the sweep.

What's next? The Nationals head to Cincinnati to play the Reds. The Nationals are 3-1 and the NL East Leaders.

Nationals drop 2 out of 3 to Cincinnati

Cincinnati, OH -- Disappointment could be the only way to describe the Nationals first road series as they only picked up one win in Cincinnati. Game 1 was highlighted by 3 home runs from the Reds and a poor pitching performance by the Nationals. Game 2 was better and pretty dramatic with both teams landing blows to the other, but the final one came when Denard Span crossed the plate in the top of the 9th to give the Nationals the 6-5 advantage and allow for Rafael Soriano to pick up his second save of the year. Game 3 was the best game of the series with both teams having their #1 starter on the hill as it was Stephen Strasburg vs Aroldis Chapman. Both pitchers would go 6 innings, Chapman with 9 strikeouts, Strasburg with 4. The Nationals would play some small ball to get a run across the plate in the top of the 6th after being dominated by Chapman for the 5 innings before that. However the dream would end after Strasburg was pulled with runners on first and third and then Henry Rodriguez gave up a 3 run home run to Zach Cozart. That home run would put the Reds up 3-1 and end up being the final score.

What's next? The Nationals head back home to play the Chicago White Sox who are also 3-3.
