San Francisco, CA -- It happened in a blink of an eye. Roger Bernadina chased a ball to deep left center and dove. His glove just missed the ball but he didn't get up to throw the ball in. He just rolled around in pain as his teammates and the trainer ran out to meet him. It was a sad sight to see for Nationals fans. Bernadina was the Nationals lead off hitter and manager Davey Johnson had start to insert Denard Span for the slumping Jayson Werth and the Nationals outfield was looking pretty solid. However, this will throw a wrench into the situation. Jayson Werth will likely stay in the lineup now as Erik Komatsu was called up from the AAA Syracuse Chiefs to play when the starters get tired.

Bernadina was diagnosed with a separated shoulder and placed on the 15 day disabled list, and will likely be out for 2-3 months.

Tough break with Bernadina, hopefully Werth can start hitting. I can't believe how bad Strasburg has been for you so far. I just beat the Nationals in the World Series in my 1st year with the M's, and well he didn't pitch amazing in the Series, or even playoffs for that matter, he did win 22 games and was the NL MVL and CY Young.


If you are going to start winning games, he will need to get things turned around.

Yeah, Werth is stinking it up. I had Bernadina, Harper, and Span out there and they were doing well but that is shot now. I actually have Werth on the trading block and I am going to try to work him to get Puig once he gets off the disabled list ,he is in AA for LA.

Strasburg has been love-hate for me. Gives up 5 runs, strikes out 9 batters. He will struggle and do well at the same time. It is very frustrating. However, Gio is 6-0 right now so he is really carrying the pitching staff.

I just went 1-3 against the Padres and 1-2 against the Giants. I really need to turn it around. I got Philly next who are leading the division so I need to step it up big time.
