For those of us who didn't take Spanish class in school, could we get subtitles?

Plus, wouldn't mind having Carl Kent go to the D-Backs, Gio seems to be a better GM than Frank Wren. Really like the idea of the story!

I most certainly can do that. I put the subtitles in bold below. Thanks for following! Check your PM box, I have a proposition for you.

Martin looked a little surprised "¿Tu hablas espanol?!" You speak spanish??
"Un poco," Gio replied. "Pero, Yo prefiero hablar con tu en Ingles." A little but I prefer to speak with you in English
"Okay," Martin replied uncomfortably. He seemed to not know the reason why he was called in.

"I just wanted to let you know I recommended to Kirk that he start Chavez at 3rd for the upcoming series. He said he'll give Chavez a shot"
Martin seemed insulted. "Por que???" Why??? He asked angrily.
"Well you're batting .226 and I don't like what I'm seeing from your glove recently. Your UZR is pretty bad, it's among one of the worst in the league at -5.8. It's tough to overcome errors when the team is struggling to score runs."

Martin was fuming now. He couldn't comprehend how he allowed himself to be told off by a teenager that was 13 years younger than him. He was about to tell this kid off... Then he stopped himself.

He did have a point. He was really struggling to hit at the plate and he was his own worst critic with his errors. Martin smiled and said, "Okay, yo hago todas las cosas que tu dices a mi para ayudar el equipo." Okay, I will do anything that you tell me in order to help the team.

Gio smirked. He was happy Martin took it relatively well. He was worried that his age would be a hinderance in this meeting like it was in just about everything else in this business.

Dbacks complete expected sweep of Marlins

Well it just seems to keep getting worse for the Marlins doesn't it? After losing Giancarlo Stanton for 2 weeks, the Marlins were swept at the hands of your Diamondbacks which leaves them with an atrocious record of 13-31. At their current pace, the Marlins are expected to have a 48-114 record to finish the year. Their winning percentage, .295, would be the 2nd lowest winning percentage since the mound was lowered in 1968 and would be the 19th lowest winning percentage of all time.

Eric Chavez had a stellar series since being inserted to the starting lineup at 3B for Martin Prado. Chavez went 5-12 with a HR, 3 2B, and 3 RBIs in the series and will remain at 3B for the time being according to manager Kirk Gibson.

Also, in game 2 of the series, rookie Didi Gregorius recorded the first RBI of his career when he had an RBI double that extended the Diamondbacks lead to 6-3 in the top of the 9th.

Re: "Slithering to the Top"- A MLB 13 Arizona Diamondbacks franchise

"Gio.... Gio!"
"Wha?"

Gio wasn't really paying attention while the scouts were talking about an OF, Freddie Navarro was it? He had good contact and a pretty good arm but he really wasn't an outfielder laden with tools. Below average speed for a corner OF even, didn't have a good frame at 6'3, 180 and had the lackluster power to show for it. He won't be a good early round pick.

"Anyone you would like to suggest to talk about?" One of the scouts at the table asked."
"Actually, yes."
"Who?"
"Carl Kent"

This seemed to stir a huge reaction among the scouts at the table, both good and bad.

"Carl is the best hitter in this entire class. Great frame at 6'3, 235, switch hitter, has tons of pop from both sides of the plate. I can see him being a 40 homer, middle of the order guy easily."
"I agree," T.R Lewis, their Georgia area scout, said. "I've traveled to Loganville to see him play and this kid definitely has the tools to become a great, great player. He looks a little lumbering playing 3rd but he always has the chance of becoming a really nice corner OF and like Gio said, he really has the power to succeed in the league."

"I'm not buying it." Doyle Wilson, another scout for the Diamondbacks remarked. "Take Josh Hamilton and Pablo Sandoval combined and add in more free swinging. You have Carl Kent. I don't think I've ever seen him take a walk. No way he succeeds with that free swinging attitude. He has to learn to actually take a ball off the plate. No way he sticks at 3rd but it seems like he won't move to another position. He'll have a hot start but he'll bust"

"Hamilton has 11 homers already this year doesn't he?" Gio snapped back. "Even when he swings at balls out of the zone, he puts solid contact on the ball. He covers the entire zone well, he doesn't really have a cold zone. We can teach him discipline, you can't teach power."

"Well you have a lot to learn." Doyle sneered at Gio.
"At least I know as much as you already." Gio fired back.
"Whoa, whoa that's enough guys." Mike Fetters interrupted. "Let's move on okay?"
"Fine," Gio grumbled. Ugh he was tired of his age being a crutch for an older person's argument. It was always used insultingly.

Kent was going to be great. That he was sure of.

Wha....??? Combining the 2 Dynasties??? I hope this goes better than "crossing the streams" like they mentioned in Ghostbusters.

Hudson pitches gem, Dbacks get to Friedrich early
May 22, 2013: What Tommy John surgery?

Daniel Hudson continues to impress in his first season back from the dreaded surgery. He carved up the Rockies order to the tune of 3 hits and only faced 2 batters over the minimum. Hudson worked his mid 90s fastball to both sides of the plate and used his changeup to keep pitchers off balance before getting them with a slider. He mixed his three pitches well and managed to keep his pitch count down to a low 89 pitches.

In terms of hitting, Adam Eaton and Cliff Pennington, the 7 and 8 hitters spurred the offense in knocking Christian Friedrich out of the game early. Pennington and Eaton both went 2-4 and often started the innings with leadoff hits to put Friedrich in the stretch early.

But after Friedrich was out, Jon Garland and Edgmer Escalona combined for 5.1 innings of no hit ball. That has to be a cause for concern for the Diamondbacks.

Paul Goldschmidt, where has dost thou bat gone?

Goldy's stat line has looked bad for the last 10 games. He is batting .147 with only 1 HR and 1 RBI. His average has gone down 40 points from his .336 average not too long ago. The Dbacks hope he can figure it out soon so he can produce in that important 3 spot.
