Coming off a 64-98 season in 2012, the Rockies are looking to turn things around quickly. Last year, Troy Tulowitzki was limited to only 47 games due to groin surgery, just one of the many factors to the Rockies last place finish. Now, the Rockies have him back healthy alongside other talented position players such as Dexter Fowler, and veteran Todd Helton. The Rockies hope to get the offense rolling with a number of players who could make a real impact in the majors this season, and find a way to dig themselves out of last place.

A big issue for the Rockies in 2012 was their disaster of a pitching rotation. Jhoulys Chacin, Jorge De La Rosa, and Juan Nicasio each missed their fair share of time due to injury, and weren't very big factors when they were healthy. Jeremy Guthrie struggled in a short stint with Colorado before being traded to Kansas City, and old man Jamie Moyer was shelled on a consistent basis. Eventually, with the season being a lost cause the Rockies went to a four-man rotation with a pitch limit of only 75 per outing. They finished with the highest ERA in the majors at 5.22.

In 2013 the Rockies, have nowhere to go but up. Much of the season depends on the pitching, if the pitching can improve so will the Rockies. With some talented names on the roster, the Rockies hope to enjoy a successful season at Coors Field.
