A Few With Lou



Finally! After 13 straight games we get a much needed day off.

So far we're 6-7 and if we could've just cut down on the errors I think we'd be 8-5. The bats are a little sporadic, but the pitching is excellent with a 3.32 team ERA.

Pops Morgan has started off hot (13-36) and lefty reliever Kevin Wickander hasn't allowed a single run and is limiting batters to just a .167 average. Billy Anderson started off the season red hot, but has cooled down to a chilling .171 average in his first 41 at-bats. Hopefully he can get going and avoid a send down to Triple-A.

We get a banged up Boston (6-7) club before we head out on a 10-game road trip tomorrow. We've got Ricky well rested in this important series. Maybe we'll see him come out for two inning saves?

NOTE: Doug Ward is hitting just .048 (1-for-21) to open the season. The pickings are slim in Triple-A for a lefty bat off the bench (Jesse Levis or Beau Allred) as a replacement. So should I stay with Ward? Callup a different lefty for off the bench? Or go with a righty from Triple-A?
