Re: The New Beanetown | An Oakland A's Dynasty (MLB 2K13)
I'm doing it on a series basis so I just played game 1 Hernandez did work and so did their batters... =( Oh well haha there's still 2 games left. I need to get use to fielding as that is what is toughest to me right now. Still adjusting to the game as it is still new to me so I will probably lose a lot at first. That's alright though, it's how I learn =D. And thank you for the banner compliment, I make one for each franchise I do. I usually get bored or get too busy with school, but it's summer so I'm dedicating some of my time each day to this chise. Will post tonight the A's-Mariners 3 game series after I finish the next 2 games.

Morales almost hits for the cycle in win at Oakland
Felix Hernandez pitched a complete game giving up 2 homers, both by Brandon Moss, and 9 hits in a 6-2 win. Kendrys Morales almost hit for the cycle as he just missed a double to do it. He was clutch for the M’s. Brandon Moss hit two home runs with no one on base both times to drive in the only two runs for the A’s as they got demolished allowing 12 hits leaving a loss for Brett Anderson who pitched 5 innings until he was taken out. He started out great until the top of the 5th where he allowed 3 runs to come in. That’s when his frustration and tiredness showed which led to his benching. Cespedes and Reddick seemed inexistent as they combined for 8 at bats with no hits. Also, the A’s allowed 3 double plays on offense which could have been prevented, two of which were by Yoenis Cespedes. Jed Lowrie had two amazing diving gold glove plays to get both batters out in separate innings. As a recap, the only way for the A’s to do better is for either Cespedes or Reddick to step up or to hope they don’t play Hernandez.

A’s give up 2 runs late for loss, Lose Straily for 4-6 weeks
Dan Straily was having a stellar shutout game in 7 innings and after his ankle gave out walking back and he fractured it, so he will back in 4-6 weeks. This is a huge loss as he was pitching a shutout against an aggressive Mariners team. Josh Reddick hit his 1st home run of the season early in the 2nd inning giving the A’s a 1-0 lead. Everything was pretty much quiet until the 8th when the M’s scored 2 runs in and left the bases loaded on the third out, so it could’ve been worse. Cespedes finally got his 1st hit of the season on his last at bat, but that would be the last hit of the game as the A’s went down fast almost every inning. The only reason Iwakuma was able to pitch 9 innings was because the A’s were too aggressive on offense swinging early and often trying to force almost everything. They need to fix this problem otherwise they will most likely lose the majority of their games.

A’s shutout Mariners 3-0, Cespedes awakens
The Oakland A’s finally got their first win of the season as they shutout the Mariners 3-0. Cespedes went 3-4 hitting his first three at-bats. The A’s struck in the 1st inning to take a 2-0 lead, which is the first time they scored runs off of hits instead of home runs. Milone had a great game pitching 5 innings, but he had to be pulled due to Straily being injured, he would need to rest early to get back to 100% in one less game than he normally needs to wait. Beane said he would rather take this route for now until Straily comes back healthy. Balfour also got the save, but suffered shin splints. Beane has decided to keep him in the lineup as it is only 7 days. The A’s have one more game until their 4 game series with the Mariners is over, and they are looking to tie it up and make it 2-2 with A.J. Griffin pitching next game.

A’s pull of another shutout of Mariners, Win 1-0 to tie up series
The Oakland A’s pulled off another close one as they shutout the Mariners 1-0 in their second win in a row to bring the series between both to 2-2. Cespedes had another great game and so did Scott Sizemore who hasn’t been talked about much this series. He has the best batting average out of any A’s player and drove in the only run the A’s scored this game. Griffin had a great game and once again Balfour saved the game while having shin splints. Oakland needs to find ways to score more runs so they can get somewhat of a comfortable lead. They seem to like to take a small lead early then keep it close throughout the rest of the game. Fun fact: When Oakland doesn’t hit a home run, they win the game this season. Maybe they should just stick to hits rather than bombing home runs.
Player of the Series
Yoenis Cespedes
I would have given this award to Sizemore if he hadn't made those 2 fielding errors, but he did so the award goes to Cespedes. Yoenis did not start off strong in the first game, not even recording a hit. After the next 3 games he opened up with a total of 6 hits. He also had a great diving gold-glove catch in center field. He deserves the award.
Re: The New Beanetown | An Oakland A's Dynasty (MLB 2K13)
Thanks to all who are following. I actually haven't had this many "non-ghost" followers come out and say it so I will definitely continue with this. I am going to aim for getting at least one series done a day. Next is a 3 game series with the Astros so it should be up by 2 or so.

A’s attack, Blast the Astros away.
The A’s finally put on an attack in their first double-digit scoring win. Reddick and Moss both bombed homers as Cespedes was focusing on just getting hits and RBI’s. Jarrod Parker had an impressive performance as these young pitchers are proving their worthwhile. The 4th and 5th innings were the daggers totaling 9 runs, and then their last run was off of a sacrifice bunt from Josh Donaldson in the 7th. Next game we will see if Anderson can come back strong from a tough loss against the Mariners. Also, about 5 hours after the game the A’s traded their catcher John Jaso to the Red Sox for Jarrod Saltalamacchia. The Red Sox were not going to resign him and wanted a catcher with a low contract for multiple years, and will keep Jaso for another 3 years. With Salty in a contract year as well as Crisp and Moss, it’s going to be interesting to see what the A’s let go and keep this year.

Anderson redeems himself, throws shutout
Brett Anderson came in and shutout the Astros completely only allowing 5 hits. The offense scored 4 off of 3 home runs, with one of those coming off of Salty’s first at-bat for the A’s. In case you missed it, the A’s got Jarrod Saltalamacchia from the Red Sox. Beane said he loves what he has seen from Salty and happily traded away Jaso to the Sox. The only problem is that if Salty really produces this year, his contract is up and he will most likely ask for more money. Well he’s already started with a homerun and 2 RBI’s since joining the A’s. We will watch him closer as the season starts rolling along. Anderson really looked good out there compared to his last game as he went the full 9 innings. Although we all know that Houston is rebuilding, it is still impressive to see a shutout from any pitcher.

Moss grand slams, drives in 6 RBI’s in dominating win
The Astros really got taken advantage of in this series. There was not a sliver of hope in any of the three games played against the Athletics. Brandon Moss hit a grand slam in the top of the 3rd bringing his home run tally to 4 in 7 games. He’s really showing that he deserves a bigger contract once his contract runs out this year. Will the A’s keep him or trade him for picks or other value? Cespedes and Sizemore also seem to be the contact hitters this year seeming to get on base almost everytime they’re up to bat. Looking at disappointments, I would say Lowrie isn’t the one that is producing the most, although he is a much better fielder than batter. The plays he makes on the field make up for his batting average. This Oakland team is headed in the right direction at 5-2, but they have a tough rest of April coming their way.
Player of the Series
Brandon Moss
Brandon Moss hit up a storm this series including a grand slam which automatically makes him the player of the series. He drove in more RBI's than anyone in this series and is leading the team with 12.
Re: The New Beanetown | An Oakland A's Dynasty (MLB 2K13)
Congrats on beating up on the Astros. Should be a fun year for that.
I am curious what roster set are you using, that the M'a already have Harang as their #3 starter no less, and no signs of J. Smoak, with Shoppach behind the plate and Montero at the DH.
