Yea, Lester was slacking in the second half, sorta like he didn't want to be here. We got a few tricks up our sleeve though!
Dam well great on ZOB but you gonna have to pull those tricks to replace what you lost . Excited to find out what will happen

Winter Meetings Day 1 Recap:

The first day of the meetings is over. We didn't have any major signings today, but the offers can up by the dozens. There was a few International Free agent signings. We have the update following up.

Marco Ordonez, 3B, DR (A): This 18 year old is presumably the best infielder available. The Astros have the biggest signing bonus pool, so it made sense for both parties. Ordonez has the ability to play all OF positions as well as SS. He is a natural at third with a gold-glove calibre defense, he also possesses plus-plus power from the right side and is projected to hit 30-40 HR a season at his MLB Peak. He can easily take over Dominguez when ready for the show. He signed a 4 year contract with a bonus of around 2.87mm. His MLB ETA is slated for late 2014.

Caleb Stephenson, LHP, Sweden (B): This Sweedish Lefty produces everything you want in a left handed pitcher. He is a tall (6'7"), muscular, hard throwing man. At 20, his fastball reaches and average of 96 and has once even been seen going into the triple didgets. He does have control problems, but they should get better as he gets older. He can be a solid #3 or back of the rotation guy, with a floor of long-reliver. The Red Sox picked him up to add on to their already stacked pitching prospects display. He signed for 3 years for a 1.31mm bonus

Day 2:

I figured I'd mix Day 1&2, and 3&4 together to save space. Here is a recap of day 2 of 4 in the 2013 Winter Meetings!

Dallas Braden: Not a T15 Free agent, he was ranked #17 though. Played for the Red Sox last year after a long stint with the A's, now he's back in Oakland. He signed a 3.94m/2year contract with them. Many Oakland fans believ the Red Sox stint helped him regain issues he had. Pretty rare you see a team let a guy go, and then one season later get him back.

Tim Lincecum: Ah, finally, a legit signing! Lincecum (Ranked #5) had extensive talks with the Padres over the past few days. We thought it was nothing, but the Padres continue to express their willingness to compete. After acquiring Ellsbury at the deadline for one of their best prospects, Hedges, and signed a 6 year extention with him, they tried to compete that year, but failed. Now they can begin a legit win-now mode. They bagged him for a 4 year/ 18.88mm contract.

There was also a trade to talk about today. It ain't no minor showing, and it means big news for us here in Boston...

Rays:
Jurickson Profar, Jorge Alfaro, Rougned Odor, Luke Jackson, Justin Grimm
Rangers:
David Price, Cesar Ramos

Oh god, the Rays did the unthinkable in getting Profar. They lose Price, but what does it matter? Moore is playing pure beast for them. I'm afraid of them now, as they could be the favorites next year. But the Rangers also get a great SP to give them probably the best 1-2-3 rotation, while re-uniting the successful duo of Price and Shields. They will most likely be a World Series contender next year.

Winter Meetings Day 3:

Day 3 was easily the most boring day. Probably because teams are getting ready for the stacked Rule 5 draft tomorrow. The only signing was an IFA signing. But it wasn't a minor one. MLBTR also caught up on a rumor that we will show you.

Sammy Santiago, INF, Cuba (A): Well, it's hard to tell exactly what position Santiago plays at. He can play every position that is offered. Well, the Marlins seemed to like that about the 20 year old. The Cuban native, was said by many to be a perfect fir for Jeff Loria. His rebuild will go good with Sammy. he looks as a fit for second as the Marlins have a hole in that position. He signed a 3 year contract with a 2.87mm bonus.

Also, as I said, there was a post on MLBTR that caught the eyes of many GMs.

Red Sox; Nationals have Been Talking
By Charlie Wilmoth [December 4 2013 at 3:43PM CST]

There was several eyewitness reports that stated the Red Sox GM, and his 4 assistants have been seen going over to the Nationals booth and talking about "things". Nobody exactly knows what the talks were about, so at this point, all we need to do is play the guessing game.

Day 4:

It's the Rule 5 Draft! We went in big, and came out with 1 pick.

The lefty out of San Fran, Josh Osich. He should give us some depth at lefty reliever role. A pick that we will hopefully be proud of!

Corey Hart: Corey Hart has officially signed with the 2013 World Champions, Arizona Diamondbacks. After being drafted by the Brewers, Hart has spent his whole career in Milwaukee. He decided to test free agency this year, and he has recieved a huge reception from teams looking for a 1B/OF. Hart finally decided to go to Arizona for 21.4/2. He was expected to get a more lengthy and costly contract, but no one wanted to cough up the risk.

Mike Napoli: The last Red Sox free agent to be signed. The Dodgers picked him up for 19.2m/2 years. He will be back behind the plate again after a stellar gold glove year at first. The Dodgers are still paying for a win now mode, and it's worked so far.

So that about wraps up the 2013 Winter Meetings. We should have a recap out soon.

Justin Morneau 1B,

Ben Zobrist Util., Red Sox, 13.65/3
Chase Utley 2B, Dodgers, 6.4/1
Kendrys Morales DH, Indians, 15m/3

Clearly still alot of goods left. the top FA is till there, and a power hittier, as well as a power pitcher. All goods for the taking. Although, just after Rule 5 Draft finished, There was a nice little signature written.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss! The ink is still wet as we report this! We got him a 22.34/4 contract. It was the lowest he'd go. We wanted a 3 year, he wanted a 5 year, so we settled in the middle for a little extra dough.
