At last the highly anticipated Harvey/Ferandez matchup arrived. It didn't disappoint. Harvey allowed a run in the second on 3 straight singles to Lucas, Solano, and Furcal, but escaped trouble. Ferandez struggled with his control in the first four innings throwing just 29 strikes compared to 28 balls and walking four guys. However we could not get any hits off of him and could not score. Both pitchers found their groove and the game started moving quickly. We finally got our first hit on a single by Duda in the 5th, but nothing came out of it.Bogusevic got a hanging slider from Harvey in the 6th and didn't miss it connecting on a solo homer making it 2-0. Harvey didn't allow anything else over 8 innings. Meanwhile Fernandez still had his shutout into the 8th. He picked up his 10th strikeout and retired the first two hitters of the 8th. Murphy got a 2 out single. Wright stepped up. He took a 2 strike outside pitch and went with it and hit in the air down the right field line. It headed toward the corner and landed in the second row for a dramatic game tying two run homer. Citi Field came alive as the Mets tied it. Harvey was pinch hit for earlier in the 8th so Rice came in and got a 1-2-3 9th. The Marlins kept Fernandez in for the 9th. Ike got a leadoff single and the Marlins pulled Fernandez. We pinch ran Eric Young for Ike. Chris Young bunted Eric to second and Duda came up. He lined a single up the middle. Eric Young scored easily and the Mets had an amazing 3-2 win and are now 3-3 on the season as we head to Philly for 3 games.
We scored all of our runs off Burnett in the first four innings. The big hit was a Drew 2 run double in the second. Wright added 2 RBIS, and Granderson had 1. Burnett settled down and the Philly bullpen shut us down for the rest of the game. Lannan was incredible in his spot start, the only reason he even allowed a run was because of bad defense. Very impressive performance by Lannan.

Our pitching got wrecked lead by 2 homers and 5 RBIS by Brown. Wheeler and our bullpen got roughed up all day. Horrible game, not much else to say. Let's bounce back in the rubber game.
