I'll start officially when Knight releases his corrected OSFM roster. Probably start tomorrow. Can't wait for the frustrations!

Are you going to keep the roster exactly right or will you be calling up and sending down players as well as making trades?

I'm not sure yet. I think this year I will be making trades and call ups/send downs as needed. I think I'll attempt to play the real role of a GM haha. I am playing with quick counts on so that should make the games go by quicker.

Samardzija Starts Season Off Right

Pittsburgh -- Jeff Samardzija and the Cubs started the season off with a 2-0 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday.

Samardzija pitched a solid 6.2 innings of shutout baseball, giving up 3 hits and striking out 8 while issuing 4 walks.

The offense for the Cubs came from an Emilio Bonifacio run after Starlin Castro reached on a fielder's choice in the 1st inning and a solo home run by Nate Schierholtz in the 5th inning off Pirates starter Gerrit Cole.

Wesley Wright and Pedro Strop provided just over an inning of relief of Samardzija and setting up closer Jose Veras for his 1st save of the season.

The Cubs have the day off Tuesday but will resume Wednesday for the second game of the 3 game series in Pittsburgh. Projected starters will be Edwin Jackson for the Cubs and Francisco Liriano for the Bucs.
