Dealing with Stanton's contract - Miami Marlins Franchise

With my PS4 taking an absolute dump on me, I was given the chance to start a new dynasty and start one with real intrigue and a HUGE challenge. The challenge of dealing with the horrible Miami fan base and dealing with Giancarlo's mega deal with the low budget of the Marlins.
    -----------------------------------------
    House Rules
    - Trades must be within reason since trade logic isn't completely there.
    ------------------------
    - If real life team signs player to a new contract (i.e. Giancarlo Stanton) I must give him that contract. If I cannot afford the contract I must make the necessary moves to accomodate. This will force me to not low ball players in my own free agency.
    -----------------------------
Copy MLB team example: Stanton signed his 13 year, $325M deal so I signed him to that also.
    --------------------------
Sign my own example: I signed Yelich to a 8 year $56M deal. This is to protect me from the real Marlins giving him maybe a 6 year $80M deal and me being really screwed. (If a deal I give a player is way outta the ballpark then I must match. But a $5M difference will not force me to do so.)
    --------------------------------
    - If the (real life) Miami Marlins trade a player that I have on my roster I must trade that player for the newly acquired player. If the trade on MLBTS is not accepted, I must do w/e possible to make it work. The only way a trade may not have to go thru is if it puts me over the budget. I may, however trade for my previous player at a later date tho.
    ---------------------
    - Will play 1 home stand and 1 road trip per month.

Re: Dealing with Stanton's contract - Miami Marlins Franchise

          Marlins make history
After the Miami Marlins finished 77-85 and watched the SF Giants beat the KC Royals in the 2014 World Series they decided to make the offseason their own showcase. The Marlins locked up Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich to long term deals.
          -------------------
Christian Yelich received a 8 year $56 Million deal while Giancarlo Stanton received the record breaking deal of 13 years $325 Million. The two will now have the corners of the massive outfield locked down for a long time to come.
          -------------------
The Marlins also made Jordan Thomas the Special Assistant to the President of Baseball Operations
          -------------------
*Note: U can only do a 10 year contract on The Show so I made the deal match up for that time. Once the 10 years is up I will add on the 3 years and the 4th being a club option

Re: Dealing with Stanton's contract - Miami Marlins Franchise

Appreciate it! Pretty excited about this since its a whole different kind of challenge. I love low budget teams, but have never had to worry about this kind of wrinkle so once my PS4 crashed my decision was made up. And absolutely wanted to lock down Yelich as I am a big fan of both studs.

While the Marlins are said to be down to "pennies" available in the budget, they did manage to fill some areas of need and might have strengthened their minors system even though the over capacity is said to be thin. The Marlins have announced their 2015 Rotation and lineups.
                  ---------------------
                  2015 Rotation
                  Jose Fernandez
                  Henderson Alvarez
                  Jarred Cosart
                  Tom Koehler
                  Andrew Heaney
                  ---------------------
                  2015 Lineup
                  1. Christian Yelich - LF
                  2. Adeiny Hechavarria - SS
                  3. Giancarlo Stanton - RF
                  4. Casey McGehee - 3B
                  5. Marcell Ozuna - CF
                  6. Garrett Jones - 1B (vs RHP)/Nate Freiman - 1B (vs LHP)
                  7. Rob Brantly - C
                  8. Derek Dietrich - 2B
                  9. Pitcher
                  ---------------------
                  The 1-2 knockout punch
                  David Robertson - Set Up
                  Steve Cishek - Closer

Yeah, Stanton and Yelich are both absolute studs, great corners to have. Somehow you gotta try to get at least one other young beast in the rotation to partner with Jose.

Ya, I am going to see how I do with Alvarez and Koehler. I really like Cosart. Heaney will be interesting but will try to give him all of 2015 regardless....I am just really bad with lefty SPs that don't have the last name of Bumgarner. Kolek will be my next huge name outta the farm but he's very young and probably 2 years away unless he just shuts down everyone.

That would have to be 2016 and I'll have to have a solid season in now cuz I have $2,000 in available budget....yes thats right! $2,000!!

Heaney does it all as Marlins sweep Phillies
                            ---------------------------------------------------
After dropping the opening series in DC 1-2 the Marlins came home in hopes to show the home fans what they'd be in for in 2015. They did not disappoint. Andrew Heaney single handedly beat Philly in the game he started going 7 strong shutout innings, only giving up 3 hits and driving in the only run of the ballgame. The Marlins are now 4-2 and are scheduled to have an off day.

With the Marlins giving Stanton and Yelich extensions they tapped themselves out for any other extensions. Rumors were that Jose Fernandez and Marcell Ozuna were next up, with Ozuna being more of a wait and see if he could progress in 2015 to make sure CF in the massive Marlins park would not become too much. While Fernandez has been as shutdown as they come in his 2 early starts to 2015, Ozuna has been on another planet offensively and defensively, not letting anything hit the grass and placing missed pitches 15 rows deep. Special Assistant, Jordan Thomas has said that the Marlins plan to open up talks about a contract extension soon with Ozuna, but may hold off until the offseason to see what kind of money, if any, is available for a long term contract. Either way it looks as tho the trio in Marlins Park will be playing alongside eachother for a long time to come.
