We are zooming through June here folks and getting ready for the transfer next week to MLB 15. Once I make sure my sliders are set on 15 I will resume weekly updates, stories and of course another monthly wrap up show All-Star Game/Trade deadline addition!

Also Twitch has been unstable for the past week so broadcasts of the games will resume once they work out the kinks and the security breech they just had.

Yankees start their second half of the season with a 4 game set at Central Division Leader Minnesota

The New York Yankees are feeling really good about themselves as they travel to the Mid-West to face the red hot Twins in a 4 game set to begin their second half of the season. Manager Lou Pinella is very pleased with his ball club and how they have responded to a rough April with a torrid May and a solid June. "The guys just came together and realized it takes a village". It takes your pitching, hitting and defense to make for a successful season". Donny and Willie have really led by example and then you have a guy like Tommy (John) leading this pitching staff. Nobody in this league thought Tommy could still pitch. But we believed in him and felt he could be the glue between Ron (Guidry) and our young up and coming pitchers in Dennis, Charles and Bob. Throw in Rick (Rhoden) and you can see a dynamic staff that has really held it together despite the rough April we endured (2-13 start).

As we are approaching the All-Star break a few Yankees may find themselves in the mid summer classic.

Yankees Look To Escape The Twin Cities With A 2-2 Split As Viola and Blyleven Dominate.

July 1987 - The New York Yankees rolled into the twin cities this week to face the AL Centrals first place Twins. In game one Dennis Rasmussen pitched a gem and the Yankees pulled out a win in the series opener. But then the Twins rolled out their ace in Frank "Sweet Music" Viola. He proceeded to fan 14 Yankee hitters en route to a complete game shut out. But to add insult to injury in game three the Twins had Bert Blyleven dominate the Bronx Bombers and he fanned 15...count them 15 Yankee hitters. Only Ricky Henderson managed to have a good day going 3-4 with a triple and a HR.

In injury news, All-Star RF Dave Winfield continues to be day to day with a sprained right ankle. The team expects him back soon and he is available for PH duty if needed.

The Yanks will try to salvage the series tonight with Tommy John on the bump. The Yankees are in first place over the Blue Jays by 2.5 games heading into tonight's series finale.
