Re: A Fictional History of Baseball - 1871 - Present (OOTP 17)
Spiders Move to Philly, 2 Teams Join NA, Trojans Fold The National Association world shook today when it was announced that the 1872 NA Champions Troy would fold after owner Jason Lawrence's business failed and he no longer had money to pay the players. All Troy players will become free agents and will have the opportunity to sign with other NA teams. In other news, Cleveland announced the team will be moving to Philadelphia for the 1873 season, to play as the Philadelphia Keystones. Lastly, two new teams will join the National Association this season, the Baltimore Baybirds and the Brooklyn Blue Stockings. |
