Operation: Northern Title | A Jays Franchise (MLB 16)

So, I know there are a few Jays franchises on here, but I could not see myself using another team and really wanted to share my franchise progress with other fans.

I do things a little different, it's more of a minimalist franchise. Here's what you can expect

- I only play every 6th game, unless there is something special happening. I will do a full report for the Game of the Week that I play, and quick little scorelines for all simulated games
- I will use some screen shots and plain graphics, but nothing flashy
- I will make back stories and locker room drama stories up to keep things interesting. Of course these are completely fictional
- I will accept forum users as CAP's for the MLB Amateur draft as well! Details on that will come up when I get closer to draft time.

Rules/Info
- PS4
- OSFM v4.5 rosters with 40-man set
- All Star difficulty for everything with possible upgrade to Legend
- Sliders and franchise options are left to default
- NO 30-team control
- I will try not to fleece the computer in any trades either, I try to work as realistic as possible

Anyways, I'm sure there is more stuff I could share, but this is a good start, hope you all enjoy

Changes in the 6ix, Atkins Out

The season hasn't even started yet and already there is drama surrounding the Toronto Blue Jays. President Mark Shapiro announced today that he was firing his hand-picked General Manager choice after only 3 months on the job.

Shapiro - "I felt like I've made a mistake here, Ross said all the right things but once we started working together, it wasn't like in Cleveland, we weren't on the same page and it was clear that it wasn't going to work for what we are trying to accomplish here"

So, Shapiro will instead turn to 34-year old Kris Jardine, who most recently was General Manager of the Miramichi Cardinals in the Can-Am Pro League. Jardine doesn't seem to have a Major League resume, but he comes highly endorsed by his new boss.

Jardine - "Mark has the confidence in me to do this job. The goal here is to bring a World Series title back to Canada and we both agree on the best ways to make that happen. Soon I'll be meeting with all the coaches and players to go over our goals here and make sure the 2016 Jays are all on the same page"

With a tumultuous off-season finally over, can this team pull it together and reach higher than the ALCS of 2015? Only time will tell

Trade Rumblings: Stroman On The Move?

The Jays Gazette - by Jebby McIntosh

There has been no official comment from the team, but reports from industry insiders are pointing towards the Jays possibly moving Marcus Stroman before the season starts. According to reports, Stroman is unhappy with the direction of the team after replacing their GM during Spring Training. Stroman is also preferring to play back in the US instead of in Canada. This would be hard to believe, as Stroman has shown nothing but love for Toronto since being brought up here in 2014.

GM Kris Jardine did not comment on the specific rumours surrounding Stroman, but did say the following:
"I have had discussions with other teams about potential deals, that is my job as GM, to work to improve this team whenever I can"

Surely, should Stroman happen to be on the move, the return for Toronto would have to be through the roof. I, for one, don't think Marcus is going anywhere

Colabello Has Suspension Overturned By Court, Promptly Gets Traded

Chris Colabello had been slated to spend the first 80 games of the season pondering what he put in his body that was against MLB's substance abuse policy, but today, a US district court overruled his suspension citing that the particular strain of drug he tested positive for was not banned by baseball.

Colabello was relieved to find out he was able to play again, but shocked to learn that shortly after the court case was dismissed, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants.

Giants Receive:
1B Chris Colabello

Blue Jays Receive:
SP Kyle Crick

Crick, adds a young arm to a minor league system desperately in need of prospects. Colabello was deemed expendable because of his character choices and the presence of Justin Smoak on the roster.

GM Kris Jardine - "We didn't feel like Chris was needed here anymore, and based on what's happened, we felt he needed a fresh start. Kyle will go to AAA Buffalo and join our growing core of minor league arms"
