Re: Blue Bloods [OOTP 18]
TOP TEN TRADE ASSETS
Listed in descending order

This list doesn't include players with 10/5 clauses (Jose Bautista, Hunter Pence), players that have more than two years of service time left, nor ones that have been traded recently (Sonny Gray, Mark Melancon). It's a buyer's market for outfielders, with six or seven prime candidates to be moved prior to the deadline, or during the waiver period.
10. Nelson Cruz, Seattle: The 38-year old Cruz is enjoying a solid season (17 HR, 47 RBI, 110 OPS+, 112 wRC+); and he's only owed about 40% of his $14M salary, so he's an affordable option. But he's limited to American League teams; as he's made only four starts in the field, which hurts his value. The Yankees, Royals, and Indians appear to be possible top destinations for the slugger.
9. Zach Britton, Baltimore: The Orioles are rumored to be asking for a ransom; and Mark Melancon just went to the Phillies for two of their top prospects, which will only increase his value. He hasn't been as dominant as his 2017 season, but he's still one of the premier back-end arms available. The Rangers, Braves, and Nationals are the likeliest landing spots.
8. Junichi Tazawa/A.J. Ramos/Kyle Barraclough/David Phelps, Miami: These four are in the same spot because the Marlins need to shed a TON of payroll, and this quartet makes up a pretty disproportionate amount of the total payroll under the new ownership group. If the Yankees are still in the race on July 31st, I look for them to be interested in at least two of the above. Atlanta, Washington, and St. Louis are also thought to be interested.
7. Sean Doolittle, Oakland: The other dominant lefty closer in the American League, isn't quite as consistent as Britton has been, but could be easier to pry away from the A's. He is also much more affordable, as he's only owed around $1.6M for the remainder of the season.
6. Andrew McCutchen, San Francisco: Much of this projection will be based on his medicals (currently out with back issues), but should be healthy and affordable enough for a team to be available to take him in a deal if he's good-to-go by the deadline. His salary won't be exorbitant, but he's not the defender that he used to be a few years ago, so the American League appears to be the best place for him to be.
5. Jean Segura, Seattle: He's higher than most on this list due to his versatility, speed, and that he's affordable. The Royals kicked the tires on acquiring him before going all-in on Sonny Gray. Elvis Andrus is struggling in Texas, and if the Rangers weren't averse to helping out a division rival, it's possible he would have been a Ranger by the time of this piece.
4. J.A. Happ, Toronto: With Gray off the market, the shallow pool of starters got even worse. He's struggled as of late, but his relatively low price tag and the fact he's left-handed makes him an attractive back-end-of-the-rotation option.
3. Charlie Blackmon, Colorado: I'd be surprised if the Rockies didn't end up moving Blackmon, as he's thirty-two and the Rox are on the cusp of entering a rebuild phase. He's currently dealing with a wrist injury, which could prevent him from being moved, but he's one of the most complete players on the market.
2. Jordan Walden/Justin Wilson, Detroit: The Tigers are for sure in a rebuild; as Brad Ausmus' seat is red-hot, and the playoffs appear to be out of the question. Walden got off to a rough start; but has had a solid last 2.5 months, and is ridiculously affordable with only $350K remaining on his deal. Wilson is consistently underrated, and is just below Britton and Doolittle on the lefty closer list.
1. Josh Donaldson, Toronto: If his teammate Jose Bautista wasn't invoking his 10/5 no-trade clause, he'd be right here. Donaldson is dealing with concussion-like symptoms after taking a pitch off his helmet a few weeks ago, but he's dealt with nagging injuries all season long. The Blue Jays appear ready to start trading off assets; and Happ, Donaldson, and possibly Marcus Stroman could be moved.
Honorable Mention: RHP Andrew Cashner, Baltimore; 3B Todd Frazier, San Francisco; OF Melky Cabrera, Colorado; OF Khris Davis, Oakland; RHP Garrett Richards, LA Angels; OF Seth Smith, LA Angels; 1B Justin Morneau, Colorado; OF Lorenzo Cain, Arizona
