Re: Nashville Sounds Expansion Team Franchise | OOTP 19

BREAKING: Sounds Trade Trevor Bauer to Yankees For Impressive Prospect Haul
Nashville GM Danny Carmichael has made a move that has surprised fans as it feels more like a move that a rebuilding team would make... Not one that a Division Leader would make.
Bauer and 20 year old 1B prospect Edwin Reyes (1.5* potential) were traded to the Yankees for top prospects CF/LF Clint Frazier (1.5* ovr, 4.5* potential), RHP Chance Adams (2* ovr, 2.5* potential). Also included in the deal were 1B prospect Mike Ford (1.5* ovr, 1.5* potential) and RHP prospect Erik Swanson (2* potential).
Bauer started the season as the Sounds' #1 Starter in their rotation. So far, Bauer is enjoying his best season in the majors. In 19 starts, Bauer has a 6-6 record with a career low 3.72 ERA. In 92 innings, Bauer has struck out 92 batters, allowed 79 hits, and walked 41 batters.
This move comes as no surprise as the Yankees desperately needed more pitching help. By acquiring Bauer, the Yankees receive a reliable right handed starter and can move Chad Green back to the bullpen where he's been so dominant.
The only way the Sounds would give up a top end of the rotation starter, is if they got at least one top tier prospect in return... And that's exactly what they got in outfielder, Clint Frazier.
Frazier, 23, has played for the Yankees' Triple-A Affiliate, Scranton, all year. In Scranton, Frazier is hitting .264 with 12 HR and 45 RBI's in 84 Games. He also has an OBP of .338 and a Slugging Percentage of .459. If he's actually given playing time, Frazier could become an extremely reliable MLB outfielder. Standing at just 6'0", 190 lbs, Frazier has great power and his bat speed is nothing short of incredible.
Chance Adams, 23, helped persuade the Sounds to make a move. Adams has had a fantastic 2018 season in both Triple-A and in the Majors. In Triple-A, Adams was 5-5 with a 3.21 ERA in 75.2 innings pitched. In the Majors for the Yankees this season, Adams has won both of the games he's pitched in. He has 10.2 innings under his belt with a stellar 0.84 ERA. Adams, once a Top 100 prospect, has a bright future in Nashville.
1B Mike Ford was thrown in the deal for 1B depth purposes for the Sounds Farm System. Greg Bird isn't exactly playing up to the standard the Sounds originally thought he would. Ford is having a solid year in Triple-A Scranton. In 85 games, he was hitting .264 with 17 HR's and 52 RBI.
RHP Erik Swanson was thrown in the deal strictly for his potential. The Sounds scouting department love his stuff and think that if he can fine tune his mechanics, he can be a quality MLB pitcher. However, this season, Swanson is struggling mightily for Double-A Trenton. He has a 3-3 record with a 5.50 ERA in 10 starts.
However, this trade will either put Chance Adams or Kyle Freeland in the starting rotation for the Sounds... And we're not sure if that's what they want just yet.
There are rumblings that Carmichael is still trying to make 1 more move today, so stay tuned.
